I'm trying to order two HID kits (for my stock headlights) from DDM but cant seem to figure out exactly which bulbs. I have 2 '08 RZR's. I decided to go with the 55w 6000k kits. I also dont know if i need harnesses etc. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for all the responses. I just ordered two 55w 6000k 880 kits. Hopefully ill get them soon. They say on their site that they are out of stock until the 27th. Ill post up pics of the installed kits when i get them. Thanks for your help. Just FYI, I called DDM today before posting and got absolutely zero help from the guy on the phone. This was my first contact with them but i wanted some answers before ordering 10 or so kits for various things i have and he wouldnt give me a single minute to ask him questions. Just told me to look on their site for info. Might not be fair to judge off one experience but thats just what i got out of them on a monday afternoon...since i couldnt get the answers i needed, i just ordered the 2 RZR kits and will have to do a little more research on my other applications first

I just ordered the 55w 6000k hi/lo for my Ducati Hypermotard and they told me that the 55w ballast were on back order until the 27th too.

I put the same kit (not hi/lo) in my RZR4 and they rock!!

I should be able to see at night finally after installing them in the Duc.

FWIW, I think you got one bad egg on the phone call because I have talked to several people at DDM several times now and they have always been helpful.

Darn, just got an email from DDM stating that my HID kits will be delayed. Instead of the 27th, they are shooting for the 2nd. Poop, no biggie, was just looking forward to them. Hope you guys that I spoke with won't be delayed too much longer either

Installed a set DDM HID's last weekend on my '11 s. I purchased the 55watt 6000 k's and H13 bulbs. It's alot brighter than stock. They have a slight blue hue when first turned on which turns completely white in just a few seconds. Definitely need to aim the housings right to make both low and high work effectively. When i ordered 3 weeks ago i must have got the tail end of the last batch of ballasts.

What was the difference between the standard and slim ballasts? The one's i received are fairly heavy, with crome covers. I figured these were the regular after viewing pics of others some of you guys have installed. -steve

I called up DDM to verify what i should order and i was told that the 5000k is the brightest and most pure white of the 55w HID's. I have/had 35w 6000k and everyone seems to talk about the 6k color, but why not the 5k if its the brightest white?

I have 35w 5k in my truck low beam and fogs, 35w 5k hi/lo in my Element, 35w 5k H3s in the side lights on my trailer. The color is white. Soon as DDM get some 55w 5k H13s in I'll have them for my RZR-S. I think they recommend 6k and up 55w is because 5k would be way too bright for street use.

5k isn't too "Bright". If you will refer to the link you have in your post -

It is a common misconception that higher colour temperatures (K’s) produce brighter lights. This is not true. The colour temperature only determines the colour but not the brightness of the HID light. The Colour Temperature is simply a scale represented by the Kelvin Temperature Chart (hence the abbreviation “K” or “K’s”) as depicted above that measures the colour of the light output. Typically, the higher the colour temperature, the closer you get to achieving bluish to purplish light colours.

So, you see, the "K" refers to "Color" . The 6k is a bit more towards blue.

I have read, but do not know from personal experience, that when you go up to a 55w light, it's OK to go to a 6k bulb and not be "Too Blue".

I personally find that the bluer the light is, the more distracting it is to my eyes.

I put the DDM kit in my 2010.... 5k 880 35w Way bright! and White.... I went 35 watt cuz I didn't want to chance having to rewire for higher wattage than stock. (Stock on 2010 50w) no extras .... around $35

Not sure if the 08 is the same.
