Here is A pic of my dash.I cut the part that hangs down off with A cut off wheel.Relocated the switches and power socket. It was so simple even A caveman could do it.You just remove the swiches cut the dash brace under the the dash about 1 1/2" from the bar. Then make A straight line across the plastic and cut it with A cut off wheel. After its cut and cleaned up with A file you can use A lighter to smooth the edge of the plastic. Then use vise grips to hold the brace under the dash in place with it overlaping the 1 1/2" tabs left on the bar ones it is angled up where you want it weld or bolt(I welded) the brace onto the tabs on the dash bar. Then cut now holes for you gauges and reinstall them. Then redrill the 5/16" rivet holes and reinstall them.Where I located the switches all the wiring reached with no problem.Just put on A couple zip ties and the wires are hidden. This gives you so much more room it amazing and it will only take about 1 hr

Hey Watson how tall are you because my dad wants a side by side but he is 6'3 but has really long legs. He has driven in my RZR but it does not look comfortable. How much does this Mod help and do the aftermarket seats kill your leg room because my seats do, but I'm only 5'8 so no big deal.

Cutting the dash makes A huge diffrence.I am 6'1" and my legs are long. With the stock seats I would fit O.K. and my knee would only hit the dash when I would jump and come down hard. But then I got PRP seats and there was no chance of fitting with the dash the way it was.So thats when I modified it now I fit with no problem there is plenty of room.If I put the stock seats back in I bet you father would have plenty of room.I think popo made A mistake designing the dash if they made it like I did Alot more tall people would fit and buy A rzr.Your right about the seats robbing you of leg room I kinda got suckered into buying them becuase jordon said there 1" lowerer and provide more legroom than stock. He was right about the 1" lower but as far as more legroom he was WAY off.

Great mod!
I have considered doing this mod because my right knee gets pretty close to the dash as well.
Has anyone cut the silver plastics on a RZR-S yet? They are painted right?
If this mod is done on painted plastics some molding might have to be put on the cut edge...?

PS - The heel pocket on the RZR-S floor gave me about an additional inch in knee/dash clearance compared to my 2008 RZR with the flat floor...

Are the silver bodies painted?I know the red bodies are polyethelien and it is not paintable it is solid red plastic. If it isnt solid silves plastic you could add trimstrip like someone suggested then the edge would be covered. Its very easy to do it takes about 2 hours if you take your time and drink A couple beers while your doing it.

I figured that with the added safety concerns WITH the ladder it would cost more if you HAD to use the ladder instead of being able to plant BOTH feet on the ground and still accomplish the job. Do you take part time work as a pavillion for public gatherings??

I think I may have to do this mod too. I am only 5'10 but I do have the Beard super TZ seats and every once in a while when climbing it or when lifting off my knee tags the corner of the dash. I dont own a damn welder though and I dont believe in half assing sh*t.
