Well I thought I'd start a thread for my custom stereo build and see what yall think. I'll post as I go threw the build and hopefully this will help someone else out who is looking to do something similar.

First I need help or your input on what I should do to fill a gap in the dash after installing my new head unit. Im using the Rockford Fosgate PMX 5 head unit and installed it in my RZR turbo middle box. Check out the photo below, what should I put to fill in the gap I have above the head unit??? Please and thank you!

I've set aside the stereo for now and started working on the speaker pods and speakers. Just an FYI don't install the speaker pods before the glove box sub. I bought both the glove box sub enclosure and the ssv works corner floor pods. Went to go install sub enclosure and it wouldn't fit. Wasn't thrilled after taking my time to install the 6.5" speakers. So I took the right side speaker out and put the glove box in. Had to literally kick the speaker to get it to fit into place grrrrr. Well that's a wrap for tonight. Amp should arrive by thursday, hoping my street legal kit gets here soon since I have everything torn apart.

So all an all it was a good build. Some bumps along the way but I got it done. The SSV sub glove box doesn't fit my turbo perfectly so the dash went back in kind of tough and the glove box closes hard but it sounds awesome?!?

Here is what it looked like while installing everything. The two ssv works side pods with kicker 6.5 speakers in them and then the glove box 10" sub.

This shows where I had to cut some of the sub guard to get enough room for the head unit to slide into. Not thrilled about that but it was the only modification needed for the Rockford Fosgate PMX5, which by the way is sweeeeet!

Here it is all competed! I ended up making a gap filler plate out of an aluminum door kick I found at home depot. It actually worked out great!

The XM service works perfectly which is why I went with this head unit. I didn't have my wire shipment come in yet or I'd have the LED's in the speakers going. Maybe next weekend, we'll see! Thank for following along.

An update.... Decided to clean my rzr today and threw some water at the speakers and the stereo. Heard some weird noises coming from the speakers so I quickly turned off all power to the head unit. Finished washing it and dried it. Turned on the head unit and listened to some music, fine except when i turned it on again 15 min later blue tooth would not work and my phone could not pair with it. I messed with it a bit until I found in the software that the bluetooth option was totally erased. I ordered a new one for the time being but I guess I need to better waterproof this waterproof head unit???? Maybe there was an exposed input wire in the back I missed?!?

Oh and I took a soft towel and windex to the screen as it was dusty... SCREEN IS SCRATCHED so bad its hard to see whats going on?!? Unacceptable and buyer beware. Will probably make a screen protector for the hole face.

:) Thanks! Besides the head unit acting weird all is well! Shipped the unit back to the seller in California and he said he was going to ship me a new one. Lets hope thats the case and not a refurbished or the same but fixed. I plan to protect the screen with some kind of film so it doesn't scratch and better water proof cables not in use!
