I've been once and had a good time. It is basically two big loops, a real plain flat south loop, and a much better hilly north loop. The north loop is fun and has some pretty nice climbs. The RV spots were very nice and as I remember it was real cheap.

Since you said you are from Tulsa, I would think Mack Pines (Dover Arkansas) would be pretty close to the same distance? I would much rather ride at Mack Pines.

I took my wife and kids to Crossbar last fall. We did not enjoy it at all. Not our kind of riding. I love technical trails and challenges, don't get me wrong. But my idea of technical trails and challenging climbs does not include tree limb scratches all over my plastic and doors when we left. If you don't have a large machine, I can see it being a lot more enjoyable. It's just a pretty average place to me. I'm too anal about keeping things nice and neat to want to go back there. I ride at Disney (Grand Lake) quite often, and I guess the width of those trails has me spoiled. There is a lot of jeep/crawler traffic, so tree limb scratches on your RZR are never an issue. If it were an hour or less away, we might consider going back. But it was a hard 3 hours for us, so we won't be making another trip.

For anyone who has only been to crossbar once, I challenge you to try it again. Stay off the blue side, its terrible especially this time of the year. Its slow going and no shade, you will most likely experience severe boredom, heat exhaustion and overheating machines.

If you travel the red side, do some exploring. There area few "access roads" that arent mentioned on the map. They can expedite your trip to the top and beyond some of the rough stuff. If you are worried about scratching up your machine keep it on the streets. They are off road toys meant to have fun in.

Anyone who is going down for the 4th of July weekend comment! I will try to stay in contact so we can meet up and ride. 6 or 8 of us are going and meeting a good group of guys from TX who ride Teryx's. We met them last trip and had a hell of a time!

Im not 100% sure when the wife and I are going, but the group planned to be there from Friday evening July 1st - Monday July 4th. I think because of the kids we may go down friday night and come back saturday, but its still up in the air.

I know I am going for sure, just have to convince the wife to come along!

You can ride there, but dont piss off the locals if you have a loud exhaust. There are several "access" roads that arent on the map. One in particular leads you past the steep rocky stuff straight up to the 40-42 trail markers towards the top. This is also where you will find the majority of the good trails. There is a low water crossing deep enough to swim in and the water is crystal clear most of the time. I believe its marker 51 on the red. There is also a natural pond approx 8 feet deep on the red side. Its near the beginning of the trails, just off the main area, these places arent marked very well and the maps are black and white.

My group is heading down for the weekend, we met a bunch of Teryx guys our last time out. Anyone interested in meeting up with us we will be there this weekend, through Sunday evening! I'm leaving out after work and plan on doing some night riding. Some of the group is already there. I believe there to be about 10-12 of us.

If you are looking for a place to ride over the weekend come join us! PM me for contact info, always look forward to meeting new faces!
