I just picked up a 2008 RZR 800 with 2600 miles and 250 hours.

I've confirmed that no work has been done on the differential.

Here are the unfortunate particulars:

Build date of 6/12/08...right in the gray area for the nut switch.

Differential serial number: 1425017.

Did I miss anything, or as I believe, I'm in line for some wrenching?

Everything I've read here about it would indicate that you are right in the gray area also. Pullerguy will chime in I'm sure. I got lucky not once, but twice in that my 2 800 were built late summer of 07.

Once you get the pinion nut done, you might look into moving the voltage regulator up front where it will stay cool. That's my current project as I've lost 2 so far. I do think they were both original, so that's not really too bad.

But congrats on the new machine! For as much as I read on here about how bad the 800 are, I sure love mine.

You are right on the cusp. the information we have shows:
Build date 6/11/08 Sn # 1426622

Yours being 6/12/08 Sn # 1425017 I'm thinking you are on the good side of the numbers. The build date is for the diff or the RZR?

I will contact Stuart aka Pirate and get his thoughts on it but we both the same information. You are right near the break point of information we have.

PM us with your e-mail address and I will contact you with anymore information we get.

Thanks for the reply and follow up. The build date, 06/12/08, was for the RZR.

PM on the way.
