Come -a - Long or hand winch

Does any one use or carry a come a long or hand winch?
I had some extra synthetic winch line. So I bought a 2 ton come a long and took off the wire rope and put on the synthetic rope.
I will keep it in the cargo box and hope I never need to use it.

I bring one of my HD ratchet tie down straps with me, and put it in the winch bag for light duty problems, etc... Its the one with 2" wide web. Can use for tree strap or even ratchet recovery or just use the web strap as a recovery strap. pretty inexpensive too. $14 at the Depot, its a Keeper. 10,000# strap 3,000# pull

They are allot beefier then those cheap crap ratchets.

PS: It comes with 27' long strap

Just an additional tool to a winch, which you should have as well.. of course you use the right tool for the job... A winch alone wont get you out of all problems, nor do you need to fire it up for small issues or if winch fails nice to have something.. Use what u got to get out of what your in.
