Normally low RPM and lower speeds is not clutch related

Most clutch related issues cause rpm to go up and hit limiter too soon

I would be looking at power related items, fuel pressure, compression etc

Or do you have large tires, windshield roof etc on it

Hmm. Well heck. Ha. I do have a full hard cab, radio, winch, 27" black waters, an optima yellow top. So I do have some weight. Could a worn belt simply cause this issue? I'm really clueless to this stuff. I just put a new fuel pump and rings in it last winter. Though I didn't do jug or pistons, nor did I do valve guide seals. I'm clueless.

 

Anything including a belt in the clutch makes rpm go up when there is a issue

Your issue is almost certainly the weights and the drag from your accessories

A clutch kit would help shift phase rpm but probably not top speed rpm, once the belt is shifted out the clutch parts don't do much

But still....if you have 8600 miles on the original clutches, and haven't take the time to periodically blow the dust and debris out of the clutches...I would bet the primary is badly worn.

I'd inspect it carefully. Todd is a great source for replacements and clutch accessories.

Yes, I know I've put 2500 miles on the machine and I haven't do everything anything with the clutches. I doubt the precious owners did anything either

 

With a cab with the wind resistance and weight, I would certainly expect it to be lower

The miles on it the engine is weaker so combine them, that would not be that far fetched.

Again, even if your clutch was dirty, it makes rpm go up.

Anything in clutch makes it go up
