i have about 16 hrs on my rzr and i clicks in the front end when turning, it is worse on the passenger side. anyone seen this. i was thinking it is the cv joints going out.

mine has 50 hrs on it and it just started doing the same exact thing, johnny no disrespect but it is much louder than what ur suggesting is "normal", guess "ltr" and i are the only ones out there with this problem? anyone else had this?

mines got bout 40 hours and around 700 miles and it just started on the front passenger corner is the only one that does it. after looking at it we came to the conclusion that it was the brakes cauise they were rubbing a little, anyhow rzrz are prone to braking hubs which can cause the cvs to go out if its not fixed. it will make that clicking noise and the way to check if the hubs are broke is jack it up and grab the tire by the top and bottom and see if it rocks and if it does you just solved your problem. hope i could be a help

mine had a clicking on the driver side, sounded just like a cv joint. to it to the shop and it turned out to be dried up in between where the axle goes through the bearing. The mechanic put some anti-seize compound in there and put the hub back on and I have had no problems since.

I have been installing a LT kit from Mafia on the UTV Offroad Magazine RZR. What I found is that all the pivot points holes are so oversized that the bolts have almost an 1/8" slop. You can loosen the a-arms and the hub bolts in the rear and change the camber from negative to positive. We installed weld washers to remove to play. Check these points and make sure everything is tight. Also the bolt that holds the ball joint to the front hub was worn and allowed movement.

Ha Ha, do what I did with my winch hook.
Get a bid dog chew toy and run the winch line through it.
That way you have a "shock absorber" to put some tension on the line without putting a load on the winch, also the hook is padded so to speak.:D

I have front clicking coming from my front left guess I'll take her in. I only have 14 hrs of pretty easy riding. I'm afraid these things aren't going to be tough enough for me. Wish Honda would enter the SXS market.

Be afraid, very afraid. If I hadn't spent so much money on mods I might of just scraped this thing when the motor went again.I wish I would of built a buggy from scratch with one of the wasteland performance motors :)

There are MANY posts on this. I think almost every machine has had clicking problems. MOST have turned out to be improperly torqued axle nuts. They have to be 80 ft. lbs. Just re-torquing mine solved my problem - after the dealer said it was a bad CV joint. They wouldn't provide warranty because I have a 2 inch lift. Most of the problems have been fixed by this EASY fix. Hope this helps.

More times than not, taking the hubs off and re-greasing everything, then putting it back together seems to take care of most clicking, unless you have a bad cv.

Mine is having the same issue.....very loud clicking when I turn left on the driver side. Sounds like something is binding up. Its got 3 hours of riding with my 5 year old, so obviously, not been very hard on it at all. Unless I hear a quick fix, its going to the dealer this week.....anyone have any updates to their problem?

just got mine back from dealer after 2 weeks. now both front cv's have been replaced! dealer says high performance machine so plan on future failures. gorilla axles??? stock suspension! trails only! not ridden hard!
axles seem skinny for 800

Mine did the same thing. Took it to the dealer and had to have the right axle replaced. The mechanic told me that he has seen this a lot. Something about the axle being in a bind when its turned all the way to one side or the other.

I am far from made of money so when my RZR returns from the shop this time it is going to be down the road motors for it. Going to bail quick because when everyone else gets fed up the market will look like a corn field in Iowa. The dealerships look like a graveyard for rzr's. I have owned three other Polaris products and have said to myself never again each time, wish I wasn't a slow learner. One thing is for sure these are great machines if you can afford to take them home and strip off everything that says Polaris on them!!LOL

Dealer just called me and told me the put in an extra 2mm spacer in the axle...said there was already 2 in there, but needed an extra one. They installed on both front axles and no clicking.

I was talking with the phone guy, so don't think he understood when I asked him some questions, so when I pick it up, I'll ask the mechanic the specifics.

They added a 2mm washer just behind the locking nut at the end of the axle. Mechanic said he tore entire axle apart and all looked ok. I mentioned that I heard others had similar problems and they just re-greased it and re-assembled. He said it had plenty of grease already, but he added some, but problem remained.

He said he called Polaris and they recommended the added spacer. He said they had several other machines they had fixed this way as well. He added the spacer, regreased, and no clicking after 20 mins or so of riding. Hope this is the final fix and no problems with added spacer.

Update - I pulled the rear axle, greased axle splines and all zirks on a-arms and sway bar, and retightened. No more clicking. I believe they probably just need some grease and more torque, but it's job security for most dealer techs to replace.

Mine is in the shop now. Same clicking from Passenger front. Mechanic said there was a minor defect in the cv??? Sounds fishey to me. I will check with him about the spacer...Let you know. Also the tow on mine is way out. ~ 1/2 inch. Mechanic said it was typical but I cannot agree with him on this. I am wondering if this is putting some additional stress on the the front CVs/wheel bearings?
