Re: Check my cwreck out!!!!

stock cage? are you and the cage ok?

Yes, I am a little banged up nothing but some harness rash and a sore neck. The RzR has the original cage that held its own. Minimal damage, both polaris brand bumpers took the majority of the wreck. Some of the plastic in the bed broke, the rear speakers in the cage broke, and a busted tail light bulb. After the dust cleared and the medic checked me out I hopped back in and finished the race.

Me and my buddy took it to a friends shop to get a better look at it. We used a skid loader and anchored the rzr to a van to pull the bumpers out. Found a minor bend in the "bed frame" which looks easy to replace, a few bolts and it comes out.

All in all I was extremely impressed with how well the rzr is built, the guys at Polaris did an amazing job. O and BIG thanks to Beard Harnesses for keeping me in the seat.

you learn it in motocross..in motocross terminology, a Panic Rev is something a rider does in mid air if they are nose low as they go over a jump. The rider does this in hopes of the rotation and acceleration of the rear tire helping them raise the nose of their bike. try it next time it works basically hit the gas until you hit the rev limiter and hope you level out!

If you have ever experienced going over a double nose down, you know all about the panic within you as you franticly rev out your engine. try it next time it works
In a RZR, throttling it while in the air during a jump is an excellent way to break stuff when you hit the ground - it's well documented in other threads on this forum. Maybe a 200-lb motocross bike can be affected by the forces you're describing, but these rigs are way too heavy to be affected by something like that.

really? not trying to argue but i have done it in my xp and it does work some of the time. obviously its not a sure thing but its better than nothing. and ya you could break some axles of maybe a diff but hey i would take that over a flip or roll like that. and if you can learn how to do it you dont keep on the gas when landing. you do it in hopes to level out enough to land safely

After reading a few posts on here about what some of the outcomes after jumps has been, call me boring I'll take my time. I used to race off shore and beat the heck out of myself. I just don't bonce back as well as I used to.
From what I've read there is a few ways to jump them, the dune guys have it down. I think you stay on the gas and another is to get into it just before you lift off.
Can we get some info on the right way to handle jumps. Thanks.

You don't keep it pegged all the way to the ground. You let off before it hits so there isn't a shock load on your equipment.

Once again I'm on my phone instead of riding!!!

"The RzR has the original cage that held its own. Minimal damage"

I guess I missed the pictures where the RZR actually landed on the original cage with any force looks to me the front and rear bumpers took the brunt of the crash energy and the cage actually took none?

No, they just tweaked a little. When we got it back to the shop we took a good look at it and what happend was from the way it landed the impact pulled it down under the front. I was able to straighten the tabs out. Same go's for the rear.

Im having an issue attaching the pictures of the SSW Works rear speaker set, So to give you all an idea of what it looks like picture the fiberglass enclosure cut in half with the speaker wire hanging out and mounting brackets bent pretty good.

I will get the pictures up as soon as the forum is not acting wierd for me.
