Did it start real slow? Almost sounds like the battery is dead. Should charge though... Curious to see what it is.

 

Make sure you have the ground wire on the battery real good too.

 

Would a low charge on the battery throw a check engine light? or let it run but bog down when you step on it?

 

My brothers had a bad battery and was enough to just start or idle after a jump but because it was bad, it didnt have enough voltage for anything but an idle. Kept shutting down. If it starts fine, cant be the battery.

Follow the wires off tge vane sensor that it attached just above the throttle pedal. Its just 2 little wires in some black wire loom that plug into the a plug coming out of the main harness that goes through the firewall kinda behind the speedometer. When i put my stereo in i managed to push the main wiring harness up and it pulled the wires out of the plug. A good way to tell is go drive it and if sounds like its on the rev limiter at 15 mph you did the same thing i did. Whe i put my under dash sub in i had your exact problem.

 

Sounds like it is in limp mode and do the above. If you get a code I can tell you what it is. Really a lot of members could tell you.

 

Disconnect the stereo and sub wolfer then see if it still does it

 

Nailed it on the throttle sensor. Apparently i tore it up putting in the sub enclosure, and my part will be here in a week. Thanks a bunch for the input.

 

Dont feel bad, i did the same thing. When i got my new sensor i extended the wires a couple inches, the wires on the sensor are barely long enough to get to the plug.
