Chainsaw mounting ideas?

We ride the woods and come across fallen trees. I would like to bring a chainsaw along with our camping trips. Have any ideas? Like to find a Lock & Ride mount. But other ideas welcome.

I'm trying to decide on the same setup. I just bought a Kolpin chainsaw mount that was half-price at Cabelas.

I do know that mounting the Heavy(engine) end solid and on a supporting surface is best. I had a chainsaw setup on my first Ranger and twice I warped the bar the way they suggested.

I was looking around for ways to mount a chainsaw on my rzr too after reading this post... There could be a way you could make a slot in the bed to stick the bar down in, thus saving bed space. Of corse have a bar cover on the saw when you put it through the bed and then just bunjee or strap it on the top of the bed. You would have to make sure it would always clear suspension, exhuast, and airbox too. And that it dosnt flop around.

Another idea is make some sort of plate that mounts in the bed with the polaris locks, then have a quick attach system (maybe wing nuts?) for the saw to attach to the plate.

The best thing to do I think would be to buy a fitted case for your saw and just strap it in the bed. This would protect the saw the best from mud and everything. You might even be able to drill 1" holes in the bottom of the saw case over the lock and ride holes and use the locks to keep it in place.

I have been wanting to do the same thing. I had to turn around on a huge hill today when I came across a damn tree. Nothing like having to back down a hill with the RZR. It was small enough for 3 people to move but too big for my girlfriend and I to move and we were by ourselves. Most of the time the RZR can go over them but this one was wedged about 3ft of the ground with no way around it. Wish I had that chainsaw!

I'm interested in a chainsaw holder also.. I carry a machete mounted on the driver side in the cab.. It helps with clearing some stuff, But I'd really like a easier way to carry my chainsaw.. Right now if I want to carry my saw I have to remove my lock and ride box and strap the saw and its case in the bed. The case takes up a ton of room, But the saw rides better in the case then just laying in the bed. It would be nice to find a mount that gets the saw out of the bed.
