Its been in low teens and single digits here southern Utah. I wondered if I would have start problem with the 570 so decided to give it a try. I cycled the key on and off three times and cranked it. Fired right up. Warmed it and went for ride around the park. Ran just fine.

It's been down to -10 in Eugene Oregon. Grandkids over, they had to ride in the snow. The 800 and XP cranked slower but started. Fun in snow but didn't last long. Engine water temp was 22 degrees when they started, maybe lower, no ideal who low the temp gauge actual reads. Just to cold to be outside much. Warmer in Fairbanks then here for several days. The snow is beautiful. First time in my life I have seen icicles on the on the tips of the Fir trees. Now understand why trees are decorated for Christmas with icicles.

11 degrees when I left the house this morning and a beautiful 55 degrees and sunny right now. Been a really bad cold snap for this time of year in the Texas panhandle. We usually dont see stuff like this till January.

Yes, all of the above. When we ride in very cold temps, I always allow it to warm up for a good 10 minutes. Then the first 10 minutes of riding is easy. Axles, or any steel for that matter doesn't like frigid temps, unless it was specifically formulated for them. Avoid a lot of donuts in the snow. Trust me!

Nahh, windchill don't count. That only affects bare skin. Machinery only cares about thermometer temp.

They'll just give the same excuse as the weatherman: "It's just a prediction, not a guarantee!" :rofl3:

Coldest spot in North America for 2 days last week -24F for a daytime high and -54F with the windchill. It was even to cold for those of us that live in Southern Alberta and are used to winter. I work outside for about 4 hours everyday in that.

I know that wind chill is only supposed to effect living things, but every plumber out there will tell you that it is important to close off under house vents in windy conditions. Those that don't will have frozen pipes in the morning. And we always covered machinery that was left outdoors, or else it simply would not start. Identical machinery that was behind the shed doors would fire up in the same conditions, just with no wind blowing on it. IDK, but I got tired of it and moved farther south about 34 years ago!
