I was all set to pull the trigger on the Cagewrx race cage for my XP4T but the more I look at all of the options out there, the more confused I get. I love the whole fastback, rearward swept lines look but I feel like it's the most common and I don't want my rig to look like everyone else's. I like the look and usability of the roof rack/baskets but $1200-1500 for a tiny rack is insane, I didn't even pay that for a Frontrunner or Gobi on my Toyotas. I currently like the Cagewrx stuff, a few designs from UTVInc, and the Vent Racing offerings.

What do you guys look for in a cage, is it purely aesthetics, the quality of the bends and welds, a superior design, maybe a certain company in particular? Did you order it powder coated or did you get it raw and have it done locally? I fear a cage, no matter how well packaged, will certainly have damage to the finish in shipping/transit. I am also concerned that there won't be a powder coater locally that will have a oven large enough to do a cage. I want to get something moving here soon I just need to make a decision.

If you haven't check out SDR I would suggest you do and give them a call. They do awesome work and the craftsman ship is 2nd to none.

just ordered mine yesterday. Went with 50 caliber racing (supporting vendor) radius cage w/ 4" drop w/ integrated rear bumper. Richie(owner) was really nice and spoke on the phone for probably an hour (or more) setting up the cage w/ custom gussets and additional support tubes. He set me up(not for free of coarse) with a spare tire rack that swings open, a custom frt tie down anchor and a custom built frt bumper to match all powder coated in velocity blue. Very happy with his suggestions and attention to detail. Im also concerned about shipping but shops with large enough ovens in this area are so expensive. Cage starts around $2100 but well worth the money. Just bought this Thursday and the wallet bleed has begun.

I had my cage shipped from california to illinois already powdercoated, not a scratch on it. I'm guessing you are in texas? Desert Works has been doing quite a few "expo builds" with the roof racks. Everything DOES cost more for a rzr than a toyota, I know! Could also check out TMW. keep in mind how tall you are and IF you wear a helmet when considering the lowered height. won't be any 6' tall people riding in my 6" chop, but I have a 2 seater, 4 seat may only affect the rear passengers more?

Where are you located? We would consider safety are you planning on just trail riding or do you plan on doing some racing or dune trips with it. If you can try and sit in a few different options some like the flat but once they sit in it prefer the radius. Either way you want the height to fit you correctly. We can build a fully custom unique cage to your wants and needs. Check us out on Facebook

Another vote for TMW. Love mine and have tested it...didn't budge.

I was going to go with TMW and the price went through the roof once you start adding tabs and basic stuff that should come as a standard. Not to mention their customer service is horrible and they take forever. TMW makes nice stuff and can't knock them for that. I purchased doors from them and it took them months to ship them out. I ended up going with Toys For Big Boys and couldn’t be happier. Great customer service and quick turnaround. Half the price with some custom touches as well.

Where are you located?

We bring all of our cages in Raw and have coated locally.

SDR, Proarmor, and Cagewrx. We can ship too.
I m in south Texas so there isn't a shop nearby that I can take it to for a custom. I just hate that I would be paying over $3K for a cage by the time I have it shipped and powder coated. I am still looking at all of the options out there and I still find myself coming back to the CageWRX Race cage and the offerings from Vent Racing.

We could get you a Proarmor Cage W/ Roof powder coated and shipped to you for much less than $3000. Take a look at the Proarmor Baja Cage, then decide if you want the roof with or with out the light pocket. ($300 Difference).

Shoot me a PM and I can get you a price shipped.

Now that I like! Can I see more pics, maybe of the rear, the area where the reservoirs mount, and the roof?As low as that rear is, I wonder if I can mount my Rockford rear speakers back there still? What did you pay if you don't mind me asking?

Lastly, whose doors are those?

Thanks. My friends and I have been going to him for a lonnnnnngg, so he cut me a little slack. But I can assure you it's worth your time to call. DOM steel and Tig welds. And he doesn't nickel and dime for each and every tab you want or for wanting it in a different location, or for wanting things a certain way, etc. He is a straight shooter. He made the doors also. The RF speakers do fit, I have them too. Sorry I don't have better pics of the rear. But it drops right into the bed, no rear bumper. That's how I wanted it.

I ordered my cage From DG offroad center in Cali back in march. I ordered it and the roof already powder coated. they did a very good job packaging it there were no scratches or anything. there was a ding in one of the light bar tabs from it getting hit on something, but i knew i was going to have to tweak to get it to fit the my light bar. The cage is built very well and the bumper ties into it also. it will take about 3 weeks longer than they tell you, and im still waiting on the light bar i ordered with the cage......

with that being said i think the swept back look is the best looking cage for a 4 seater out there.
