at glamis this weekend i noticed my stock rzr s had a lot of bump steer while driving on sand highway, any good fixes or any suggestions ?

Thanks, Raul
EPS, drive one handed, can turn left and right in the deepest of mud..one handed, can put her under water no damage.. No bump, wheel snap ect..if you can afford it or need it for injuries it will change your :ride: forever!!

But you will most likely never be able to go back....I'm even waiting for it to come out for my sons 170, I told him that the day I find out that it's out there it will be in the mail!! He can turn the wheel sitting idle left and right with no issue and says his is harder to steer even when he is at full speed...I hopped in his and he was right!!!

The stock machines typically don't have a noticeable amount of bump steer. Like Hawk eng. says Make sure tie rod ends are bolted under the steering arm on the spindle not over.

thanks for the input, ill check the tie rods. will the steering stabilizer help out any or a EPS ?
Well EPS will totally eliminate it. But I don't want to push that on you, @ $900 it's going to set you back..for me it's worth every penny, but then again I was blown up am missing a bunch of ribs and have more metal in me than most new cars....

If your tie rod ends are flipped it would definitely be an issue, just do what they mentioned above and it's a quick fix..

As for the steering stabilizer..I couldn't begin to tell you how it would work with a RZR, never used one..worked on my jeep but that's a different animal...

The question is... How bad is this problem? If your only getting it during a certain type of riding and or you can figure out what is causing it, just avoid it... It's bound to happen. I seen some guys have that wheel lashe out and they would swear they almost lost a thumb it hurt so bad.. Happened to a friend when he clipped a tree stump on a high speed turn in the woods... I just doest happen with the electronic power steering... There are some drivers that swear that if they installed it that they "miss" the feel of certain terrain or little things that help them out...personally, I don't think I'm missing a thing.. I love my EPS, I just don't know if that's your solution (it's definitely a solution) , I just don't know if it's for you..

I don't mind standing by a product or saying this is great... But, Because my unisteer is the ONLY product that I cannot be considered "non-biased" about...what can I say? I am totally for it, and swear by it if your getting older and or are injured... It's like the steering is butter, even when stopped... Again, I'm am biased for it because I wouldn't be able to drive without it..so take what I'm saying with a grain of salt and ask others or try outs someones RZR who has it....to me it's the one upgrade worth every penny.....

Good luck..

what is the best eps, any better ones over others ?

Thanks,

Raul
hmm, Well there are a few to chose from. The front runner by far is of course Unisteer. It's an amazingly well built system with the easiest of installation. The warrantee and build quality is great. I have only seen one other aftermarket EPS and it looked almost the same..To me knowing that Unisteer designed this particular system just had me wondering if someone had copied their idea?? I don't know, But sometimes people take an idea and improve on it..Other take an idea and whip something cheap together and try to make a quick buck or easy profit. But this guys system didn't seem any different at all..for all I know it was a Unisteer with a different brand sticker??

The other EPS I have seen is the OEM...We have had members seriously look into installing an OEM EPS system that is aftermarket.. The problem was the cost was MUCH more and from what I remember the RZRs that come with the EPS stock have a different wiring harness (they, the members that looked into it said it was a major build and not worth the amount of money involved over buying a true aftermarket system). I can only recommend the Unisteer because I own it and use the crap out of it... To speak either way of another EPS wouldn't be fair to their company or product. I don't know how good their steering system is, the components, instructions, customer support ect... There are a few member out of the 19,000+ we have here that must have something besides the stock or Unisteer....anyone??

I wish you the best of luck. If you want my opinion, Unisteer is doing something right..If they are the ones that everyone either knows about or compares a system too.... That's what helped me get off the fence and buy theirs.. That and when I called the Company that makes them (Unisteer)..NOT THE VENDORS WHO SELL THEM...they personally told me (after I explained my injuries and situation) that they stand behind their product and would refund my money...

Since the install (I'm sounding like a broken record here) I never thought once about taking it off.. This coming from a guy who has had to sell off all his old toys, ATVs, Snow Machines (snow mobiles to southerners) and a few other fun things, All because I am too injured to use/drive them.. I even had to trade in my Jeep with a huge lift, tires ect..I just couldn't handle the steering (the freeways in Alaska have these deep ruts in the roads from everyone using studded tires and fighting with that huge jeep hurt) I drive a Chrysler 300 now, My wife hauls with her new truck....

There are A LOT of threads about the Power steering, do a search and I'm sure you can get all the information to make the best and most informed decision....
Hope this helped...:)
