the base S is fine for trail riding, i recently traded my 09 s in on the 11 base S. The ride is a little rougher, not much. If your a jumper and a dune rider you will prolly prefer the fox shocks.

So the main difference for the shocks is jumping? I'm shoppin around looking at these and can't make up my mind on what I want!!!
One guy on here made the case for the LE like this: Automotive finish with clear coat is tough but still gets scraped up on the trail. No problem buffing that out and looking great all over again. With the red base (no paint) not so much.

So true! I couldn't handle the jumps or even the riding I do now with the regular shocks.. I'm already maxing out the Podiums..I have to go up again! But when you're trying to get 8 feet off the ground that tends to happen.. It seems like every time I fix one issue, like power steering, then seat belts, then seats, then, then, then..... I can just get a little more out of her... Every ride I do I treat like it's her last and she'll never run again... If I break it I fix it..If her back breaks then its major surgery..But I will always drive her till there's no adrenalin left!!
