Do you plan to add a snorkle? If not then just go with the UMP and save some $$ the BTI's are a bit more and made like the DFR (almost same??) those are easy to set up with a snorkel kit...There are differant models of the BTI, and you can add a "cap" to the UMP for submersion.. This is one of those "personal preferance type deals, Good luck.

I cant say much about the BTI but I have the UMP and it has been great. We have ridden in all kinds of dusty, dirty conditons.

i have the DFR/BTI. i have it snorkled. 2 years with NO problems...

I have the DFR set up...been an awfully dusty Summer in Southern Colorado...I replaced the filter for this weeks rally in Buena Vista. The DFR canister had just a bit of dust lying in the bottom. The filter had dust on the outside, but the inside of the filter was virgin blue. The filter had been in for two Summers...no problems at all!!!!

I put the ump on mine about a month ago. I don't get in the water much but I still put a 6" rubber PVC cap over the end of it. Mine pulls a lot of air around the end cap. For the price, they should fix this problem. Other than that, works great so far!
