Bringing a RZR 800s back to life: Questions/Offset

I recently acquired a 2011 800s from my dad. He never used it much (it has 32hrs and a 120 miles on it:LOL:) and I've been going through the process of going over everything. He always ran AV gas in it. So far I've done some basic stuff like change the filter and change the oil. The tires are the original tires, probably 12 years old and need to be replaced. It has aftermarket Fox 2.0 shocks. So my questions are, if I replace the stock wheels with 14's with a 5+2 offset will the width be similar to stock? If they are 5+2 all around will the fronts end up wider than the rears? If so will that affect handling or is it just aesthetic? Don't want to run spacers. Will 28's work without changing up anything? Would I be better off sticking with the 12's? I've been reading a lot and I just can't find a straight answer to this setup. Anything else I should take a look at while bringing this RZR back to life?

If it is a "S" model running 5+2 with 28's should work. There may be some slight rubbing on the fronts when turned all the way to lock. Kinda depends on how the ride height is set. The 5+2 should sit the same as the stock 12's. The difference in the stock wheels is the fronts are 4+2 and the rears are 6+2, so all the extra width is to the inside. Also, check the oil prv (pressure relief valve) they are known for sticking. And the rear diff pinion nut has been kkown to come loose and grenade the diff. Do some searching on here and you will find plenty of info on both.

My 2012 Rzr 800 S had Schmidty Dual Rate Springs and a 2" lift, stock arms with 14" 5+2 wheels and 28" roctane XD's rubbed a little but only when i was at full compression on the shock and turning.

800's are great machines but little under powered with the heavy 28's I had, probably needed a gear reduction but was tired of dumping money into mine.

Hey Burk thanks for the reply, good lookin machine! I think we have the same front bumper. I went with the 28's but tried to get light(ish) tires and wheels without beadlock to hopefully keep the weight down. Do you know what your tires weigh? Are they 10 or 11 wide? I believe the Cougars I got are around 29 pounds without wheel

You'll be fine with 29 lbs tires. If you feel you need/want a bit better performance later then get a Dalton adjustable clutch kit. I ran that setup with 30" Blackwaters (33.5 lbs) with fairly decent results.

I also recently threw some used 32" Carnivores on it to test a bit. It did surpringly well with a stock Duraclutch setup.

28x10x14 Roctane XDs weighed 37.3 lbs. like I said they were heavy lol, I won’t run without beadlocks, not much extra weight for alot of benefit.
