I have only 10hrs on my new 1K and the motor blew up and the paint on the trailing arms, rear wheels, rear links have no paint left on them..It looks like its been through the Baja 1000! Very let down by the Fit & Finish of my new car.
I also have a 2010 800s that still looks like new (Ocotillo wells ridin only).. Whatever they have done in there Production processes it $&@& I sure Polaris makes this right with me..

You do realize there are way more RZR owners then members on this forum right? There is no prerequisite to be member if you own one. You act like he owes you an explanation.

If my motor blew up on a brand new machine doubt that I'd be concerned with the paint on the trailing arms. Don't think I've seen any offroad machine of any type thats been actually ridden that didnt lose some paint on the suspension. good luck on getting it fixed though.

Sad that everyone suspects this person, rather than wait for the story....There was bound to be some that would grenade, its the law of averages, most of the problems have been rather minute, I know some will disagree with that, but an engine expiring...that is a real problem.

Ya, you're right, R955; somebody HAD to be the first one to explode. I now think that I was a bit hasty in my previous post; Sorry 'bout that.........

Cheers

my god you should see my trailing arms...after 200 miles they looked sandblasted..now they look like they were dragged down a trail behind it for maybe 100 miles..1600 miles on them now.

I have not posted that much until recently but lurked for Two years as I researched before I bought. I did not post due to the fact that I did not own. It is entirely possible that the OP bought the 1000 enjoyed it for 10 hours until it grenaded and then did some sort of Google search for RZR 1000 problems.

Sorry to hear about the motor. Trailing arm paint takes a beating on 900s also. I touched mine up with a rattle once. Looked nice until the next ride. You can cover the arms or live with it. Thanks for posting your experience. I'm sure we're all waiting hear what happened to the motor.

It will happen to someone else you can almost rest assured, not to bad of failure rate if you look at the #s. Just doesnt take too many aw craps to get rid of them atta boys though! Let us know what they find.

Sorry to hear about you motor...BUT the paint issue is Inevitable as the front tire sling debre straight back to the trailing arms. On that type of set up there is not much you can do.

I think a lot of folks out there (especially the ones w/ XP1000) would like to know things like: Oil level was checked by YOU before first outing? Air intake checked by YOU? etc. Dealer prep is not what it should be....

Did you do "break in" ?? What happened when it "blew up"?

Thanks and good luck...

For the trailing arms I wonder if the clear bra material would work. I know it won't protect against rocks but dirt and sand maybe.
