Best Engine Builder to go with?

So it turns out my problems were just getting started when the turbo started smoking. Now she's blown. So I've looked hi and low for engine builders locally and found really nothing. I did find one an hour or so away and they also sell on Ebay. CW Motorsports does swaps for your core as well as Rev 6 out in Utah I believe. Any experience with either of them on here? Or someone you trust other than them? I'm fine with a stock replacement with what we do. My engine did fine on the AA level 3 @17lbs until it sucked up water. I'm going to email AA to see if they to rebuilds or recommend anyone. Your thoughts?

If you ask enough guys racing watercraft, ATV's, SxS, prettty soon the who's who in a few hundred mile radius is gonna come out. In my area there was one guy. The more reputable local dealers quietly pulled engines and took them to him. Sadly, he recently passed (RIP Jerry!). The answer remains. Generally there are one or two guys that REALLY know engines in region. Maybe even a state to two. I'd ask in your area, and I'd be hunting down a few smaller shops that worked with racers. They're gonna know.

Not that you need a racing engine, but those guy's aren't gonna throw someting together and call it good. Mind you asking here was, and is, a fine start!

I'd prolly ask Joey who was actually doing theirs too. BMP seems pretty solid to me.

BTW, sorry dude.

We do not reman engines. Ours are Polaris brand new crate engines. The factory XPT engine is good to around 300hp+ with a good tune and you really do not need to waste money on beefing up internals.

I'm hoping to pick my Xpt motor up this week from rev6 but can't really give you a solid report on longevity of their products. They've been good to work with and only a week past due so far. Their only 260 miles from me so I'm lucky that way.

I've heard good and bad about cw and rev 6. Some shops around her won't even do a rev 6 install which I can more than handle that part. I'm decided to go with Joey @ Bikeman. Just waiting for the check to show up from my financial advisor so I get it to him. Joey I'll be giving you another call here soon to get the details for shipping my turbo out as well as sending you this other piece of large paper weight.

A couple of the shops that won't touch rev6 had a bad run experience and decided to just not deal with them anymore. I've heard good and bad about them. I've also heard good and bad about cw. I haven't had a shop say they won't install a cw engine yet if that tells you anything. Joey at bikeman does brand new/not remaned engines for 3300. No warranty though. But I'm not running e85....well never again anyway. You can't get reliable e85 around here. I'm on a lvl 3 AA and it's plenty for what I do. Not sure why my turbo gave out which causes a dominoes effect and ate my main bearing out.!?!? Maybe my fault with improper waste gate adjustment and the turbo got too hot. Live and learn I guess. Or maybe I'll never know.

I would do something like this if I was looking for a stock replacement engine. D&M Racing XPT Stg 1 Long Block

I would spend a little extra on a few things that would be easier to do now rather than later. Like headstuds and cam chain tensioner, once you've had to deal with the bad experience of a blown motor you don't want to have to do it again. That's how I feel from my experiences lol

We have had better results with the factory Polaris head bolt that are a TTY (torque to yield) on engines up to 300hp. The TTY bolts maintain consistent clamping pressure as engine expands and contracts. We have also had zero failures of the stock tensioner in the XPT engines and for the average rider we would no recommend changing to one you have to manually adjust.

It sounds like the way to go would be to buy the engine from Joey for $3300 and then buy the tensioner and studs from D&M and install yourself. $5150 is steep compared to $3300 if all you gain are those two parts.

And that's exactly what I did. Just bought the ARP head studs and TPR chain tensioner and haven't had any issues yet. Knock on wood!!! Lol. Joey did me right. I did end up upgrading the turbo after all to a watercooled big turbo running stage 4 100 octane.

I'm not disagreeing with you, especially if you can diy, not everyone is comfortable doing that work though. Also $3300 is cheap for a crate engine considering most other places are much closer to $5k. If you couldn't get that engine from bmp and had to buy a crate engine for $5k then $5150 is actually a pretty good deal in comparison to that.
