Well I think it's about time to change out my stock belt on my 08 std. Just wondering if I could pick up some tip from you do it yourselfers. Does this require any special tools? Or can a ******* with basic tools do this fairly easily?

I made up a tool kit just for changing a belt and keep it with the belt.

The list includes the following:

Ratchet handle 3/8" drive (Used to remove the seat brace bar)
5/8" socket 3/8" drive (Used to remove the seat brace bar)
5/8" box end wrench 3/8" drive (Used to remove the seat brace bar)
¼" drive handle
8” extension ¼" drive
# 25 torque bit ¼" drive (Used to remove the seat brace bar)
3/8" socket ¼" drive (Used to remove the clutch cover)
¼" socket ¼" drive ( Used to remove the hose clamp)

I put a magnet in the 3/8” socket to help hold the screw for the clutch cover

I can put a stock belt on without tools on my RZR 50"
You just have to finesse it.

Its super easy to do. We changed a belt on the trail with only the tools that come in the stock Polaris tool kit in under 30 minutes.
