Hello Milos .............

Use only the '09 "S" belt -- -- 3211130.

I'm having no issues with this belt. Although you will notice the lower cogs will have accellerated wear. The sheave angle is maybe 1 degree more severe causing the belt to show wear on the lowest part of the lower cogs.

I do have a slightly different configuration than you have ......... I'm well over 300 grams on the primary and am running both stages. On asphalt I can lift the front end and blacktrack on the primary.

I've no complaints at all with the STM setup.

So far these are the best we have used but managed to waste 2 of them at the hill pretty quick. The next day we let them cool down and they seem to survive.

Thanks Dave, no I don't have complaints again this clutch set I really like it, but first belt hold for only 270 miles and I thought maybe somebody come up with different one.

Thats correct. Heat kills any clutch system and belt.

I have no problem as I've ventelated the CVT cover. I take fresh air that comes down thru the tunnel and blows on both the primary and secondary. I also have an opening to take the belt measurement. I also have 1 1/2" holes around the CVT cover directly over the belt not only for cooling - But to sift out any debris.

Maybe a pic to illustrate ...........

Gott luv the overdrive to .......... 70.8 (GPS) on the Sand at 6487 RPM !! New fuel system and I ran out of fuel to go faster .. .. :rofl3:

Hello Milos -- --

The reason I just don't take the CVT cover off altogether is -- I wanted just a bit of protection -- Incase a belt decided to let go. I've partially broken the cordage on a belt -- Not a Polaris belt ..... No problem in using the "S" belt.

What the pic doesn't show are the holes underneath. Being the front driveshaft goes under the CVT and the greaseable spline is directly underneath -- I stayed 4" away from driveshaft centerline. This leaves an 8" solid protection for grease splatter and doesn't get into the CVT.

Any particle of Sand that does get inside -- Is either pulverized or drops out the bottom holes.

I have several thousand miles with this modification. Absolutely no issues to date.

Mine never sees water.

I copy Sparky design and open my clutch cover for more cooling, but try to help even little more I installed small 4" Spal fan over secondary. Will be probably better to have fan blow on primary, but seat bracket is in the way.
We will see, if this help belt to survive little longer. :ride:

Hello Milos -- --

Here are some hints -- Not so much for your benefit .. Butt - For those who read this thread.

Earlier on in this thread you mentioned that you broke a belt. Heat is the killer as you know.

Another factor is cvt maintance. And - This is the step you skipped. Because of this missed step you're going to generate more heat. Now - with your modification of the cvt cover - The clutch can disipate the extra heat.

The step you skipped ........... Look at your primary -- It's glazed and you've been blacktracking. This is what your sheaves should look like -- --

And this is what your belt should look like .............

By regular cvt maintance - Your clutches will run much cooler and the belt will last much longer. Also take a belt measurement on a regular schedule and one can project cvt maintance and when to replace the belt.

OK I get it, but what you use to get such nice patterns on shaves ? And what you do with a belt? I just wash them with soap and soft scrub.
