Hi, its been a while since weve been on, but, im in a bit of a dilemma. My 13 year old little bro has been riding my rzr a lot since ive been in school, and, today, about an hour ago, he took it riding and PARKED it on a steep hill. He then tried to get it out of park, and, broke the shifter linkage (i believe). I'm wanting to just remove the shifter cable and manually shift it into gear with a big hammer, but, im not sure. Thats why im asking you guys. I need a response ASAP with some ideas. Thanks, guys.

Why this is user error. So many get mad and sell because of things they caused. I don't get it...don't do things that break it and you won't have to work on it

Thanks guys, it was just the linkage. I limped it out fine and dandy. Oh, and johnnycat8, this was little bro, I havent rode it in almost 6 months cause Ive been gone to school. He's done more damage to it in 6 months than I have in a year and a half. >=(

cdr, two things. Get it fixed and get to riding it, you've obviously forgotten how much fun it is. Second, keep the keys away from little brother!!! Or make him fix, or both.:rofl3::rofl3::rofl3:

Oh, hes not going to touch it. I'll fix it, he'll pay for it. I started looking at it after I got it home, its been a little while since I have. It needs new tie rods and alignment, wheel bearings, a clutch bushing, new tires, and now... a shifter and linkage. In 6 months time of abuse.

Thats some serious wear for six months, how many hours/miles? What Kind of trails where you live? Having him held responsible would be a great lesson and sounds like he LOVES it!! willing to bet you can guide him and he can work on it and start taking pride in it!! Dont know him but....

X3 dont sell it~ and "thats what family is and does...."

it has 2300 miles and 130 hours.it had 1700 when i parked it. the tires have about 2000 miles on them, we have pretty rough trails, lots of rocks, and if it isnt hardpack, its mud. but, he smacked a boulder the size of him doing about 30 and busted 2 tires, and knocked it out of line.
