Just wondering if you ever wished you bought the Razor `S' and reasons why. I am torn between a stock 09 S 750 miles on it no winch windshield or roof $11,000 CDN, or a 09 reg Razor 800 miles with 3"lift, 30" silverbacks, clutched canvas roof, windshield and winch $12,000. I sure do not know which way to go. This will be trail riding and mud 95% of the time.
Thanks in advance for your input.
I know prices are high but in Canada we pay min 20% more than in the U.S.

I bought an S and haven't regretted it for a moment. Like you I was initially considering either the S or a non-S with a lift kit and spacers. The deciding factor for me is when a bunch of my buddies and I got together and ALL of them had put their non-S on its side. That was enough convincing for me to get the S.

My primary riding is in the sand, but I go out in the trails as well. If I cannot fit on a trail, oh well. I find the extra stability more important that trail riding.

But, if you are going to primarily trail ride, then the S might not be a good choice.

I bought the regular because all the trails around here were made by 4 wheelers. Seems like the S would be more important if you do a lot of high speed riding or out in the dunes. I just meander along and enjoy the view.

If you are dune riding I would go with the S. If mud and trails I would like the lift, those tires and spacers. I was on some trails last weekend that have not been traveled in a couple of years and was glad I had the standard. I might put a +4 of 5 on my later because I do like the looks of the wider stance plus it is better on quicker turns.

I was at the dealers looking at the s when I looked behind me there was an le that was traded in. It had 4000 in goodies and it was half of what the s was, so I bought it. It has beadlocks with walker evans skocks and spacers, Gibson pipe, gorilla axles, sprage cage. My brother bought a new s and its sweet but the big thing I noticed was the softer spring dampening with the long arms. As soon as I figure out the spring weight Ill probly go a little softer spring. I have no regrets on the le due to the fact my bro spent 13grand plus 2 grand in goodys compared to my 7000 buy.

I'm happy with mine but with caveats. I wanted an S version but wasn't going to pay 14 large for one as the dealership in Amarillo is really proud of their RZRs. I bought my 09 standard used with 30 hours on it for 8,000 dollars and set about building an S version with the help of some advice on this forum and a lot of discounts from the vendors that support the forum with discounts. Yeah, the additional 5 or so horsepower would have been nice but I'm very happy with mine. In the end I think I have somewhere close to 13,ooo bucks in it and yea, some horses would be nice but I can't justify spending $5,000 for a turbo while looking for a toy hauler right now. ( I have Maw convinced the grandkids would really like a place to sleep and potty and I need to strike while she's in the mood)

Yes, I would have liked a S but yes, I'm happy with what I have.

How much, I am 2 hrs from windsor boarder or 1hr from Port Huron
Was kind of joking as im pretty far away. I wish I could pass it on to someone that wants to use her. I am more into rocks and just never ride this thing. I took it to arkansas once and played in the mud and you just wont believe how great it goes being so light.

Im actaully like 12 hours from the border in Lansing KS, I wish I were in Lansing MI.

We bought the S and have never regretted it. There are no trails in the UP of Michigan or Northern WI that I cannot take my RZR S. The extra width forces me to sometimes go a little farther into the edge of the trail to let others by, but its well worth the price. I've seen far too many regular RZR's tip, so it was a natural choice for me. If you plan on upgrading the suspension, then maybe pass on the S.

Leaving the difference in cost out of the equation, get the S if your riding environment allows the extra width.

I have a reg RZR and no way will an S hang with me on the trails I run, I am 54" wide and still have trouble fitting through a few areas. No way will an S fit.

Good luck with your purchase

I bought a new Reg RZR, 08 model. Got one of the first greenies in the area, which is nice as they go faster than the old reds.

Our trails here won't accomadate a RZR-S, so i have what I can ride. I would love to have the S, but it would sit at camp when I went trail riding, due to it's width.
