Probably fine if you're just gonna use it in the back yard. I thought about the 170, but decided to go with 90cc Polaris Outlaw ATVs instead.

 

I had a trailmaster 150cc. GY6 clone engine. Never gave me any problems. I upgraded some stuff on it. You can't really use it off-road unless you want a sore back for the next couple of weeks. But it was fun until I entered the world of the RZR!

 

FYI - fine print on that specific one above says "not legal in CA". hah. probably spark arrestor (sp?) or something similar. there are a tons of similar versions though.

Probably would be fine for put around, but not something I would spend money on for upgrades, and would depreciate like a rock. At least that is how I am rationalizing keeping the 170 (or pitster) on my wish list

 

Be vary wary of some of these online stores(excluding me of course).

Seriously, do some research on some stores. I've been associated with the import buggys for almost 10 yrs. There are some horror stories. I'm not saying this one is bad, just do your homework before ordering.

 

Just my opinion but I think the 170 would have a better resale value after your kids are ready to move up to soming bigger.

Had a Yerf Dog and it was ok for what it was. If funds are not a issue a 170 or pitster is the only way to go.

 

I had one kinda like this a while ago & it wasnt bad, but it sit pretty low to the ground & not really very good for any off-road or off of the mowed lawn adventures. Plus the value dropped like a stone.
