I thought, because we take little risk to buy first production batch of XP's and we can assume could be small problems on them, be good idea to post them in one tread then start one for each problem separately. IMHO

On mine so far was only front wheel alignment and to much free play on throttle cable.

My machine was slightly misaligned n3/4'of a turn on the turnbuckle straightened everything out.

The steering wheel was installed 2 splines to the left. Another easy fix that the dealer botched.

The tires don't necessarily match my riding style, so I'll be replacing those.

During the break-in before I had 10 hours on the machine my "check engine" light "flashed" (lit up for a couple of seconds then went off). Dealer said not to worry about it. It's part of break-in. I always thought it was part of breaking. But nothing has happened yet.

I had a deer take out my passenger side shock guard on the front. You know those little plastic flaps on the front bumper. But that was the deers fault.

Well I've had a very dissapointing problem with mine......NOT ENOUGH SEAT TIME. Talked to my dealer about this and he feels like a trip to Windrock should cure this.:rofl3::rofl3::rofl3:

Cam chain adjustment plug in engine cylinder was loose from the factory and started leaking. If I didn't notice it, the result could have been much worse.

I've seen better tires come stock on RC cars. Even a Factory Polaris sales rep who test drove XP's last week in Arizona said he "trashed a new set of ITP's in 1 hour."

I'm still happy:)

There's always a risk. I bought a 2010 S you know the ones with tranny problems. Mine was fine (no problems0 but I read about lots of folk have issue. My point is that it's always a risk. I just hope if there are issues Polaris steps up. THey my have lost some customers on the tranny issues. Problem is there the only game in town for a true high end sport SXS.

Yeah I know is always a risk and this risk will not keep me to buy XP, it is great machine. Just thought, if you do have problem and posted on one place we can all check, if the same problem is on our machine or not. Plus hey, we know Polaris monitoring this forum, we can help them to fix problem for future owners. :ride:

Yep..alot of potential problems with new products are caught/prevented from getting worse by people posting issues they happen to come across on product forums. Guys need to stop taking these damn machines so personal..just because someone reports a leak or loose bolt doesn't mean that XP owner's or wanna be owners need to take that as a slap in the face...somepeople around here tend to act like the XP is their manhood being discussed.

To keep it on track...I'm not sure if its just the new design of the tranny (and me needing to get used to it) or an actual issue but reverse is hard to find on my XP. I kept hitting park. Anyone else notice that? I will say it shifts like butter....right passed R into P :rofl3:

My buddy and I purchased ours on Monday and went straight to Florence, OR dunes. My buddy, Andy couldn't wait for me to get ready so he was blasting around in the sand near the parking lot, and it started puking radiator fluid. Not sure what the problem was, but thanks to the Great Polaris dealer in Florence we rode for another 5 hours without any issues but permagrins. We both mounted Douglas Doonz paddles front and rear, and the sensation is like riding a Yamaha raptor 700.

I recommend bead locks so you can run low tire pressures if you ride aggressively. We Do.

Video cam battery died, so I have no video, but I did a nice rollover before selling my 2010 RZR S.
Check the video out in video forum.

My buddy and I picked ours up Monday morning, shot straight to Florence dunes. He had a huge coolant leak immediately. Took it to the dealer, fixed in 30 minutes and rode 5 hours of pure fun. We hook up with Douglas Doonz 8 blade on the dealer recommendation. Unbelievable. I rode a Raptor 700 for years and this feels like the same power to weight ratio. Nothing it couldn't climb and incredibly quick. I feel bad for all the RZR S 800 guys who just aren't going to be satisfied anymore. Even worse for the guys driving the dump truck called the Commander.

By the way, watch this interesting rollover from my RZR S with duner clutch in wet sand at Winchester right out of the parking lot.

I have a 2011 s model, but My Dad has a XP that has 128 miles on it and is in the shop already with engine noise, the valves are loose and clattering,Dealer says its only the exhaust valves,Im not sure that the exhaust cam isnt going out of it,overhead cams, seems to Me the valves should be getting tighter not loose, other than this, and a few things the dealer didnt tighten up during assembly the machine is a monster, the dealer said they have ordered the shims to adjust the valves and should have it back to Him by wednesday or thursday. We will see. Doc

your valve problem is actually the 14th i have heard in last 10 days. and all are 100+ miles.
to me it looks, someone at the engine assemble line is not doing his job.

Dang. I'll keep an ear out formvalve rattle.

I had the same "miss gear" and hit p instead of r in mine through breaking t in and getting used to it I can get the right gear everytime.

And, thanks for the offer on the plastics, I just decided to remove them altogether though.

The deer actually hit my hummer went two laps in he fender, and after he decided he'd destroyed my quarterpanel well enough he chunked himself onto my trailer and new xp. I'd had it about 4 hours when he hit me. Luckily there was no "big" damage to either the rzr or the h3. Just a few missing pieces of plastic.

Thing is I have been a mechanic for25 years and the engine was quiet till about 100 miles.the valves cant losen up.they should be getting tighter.so where did the exess lash come from.seems to Me.they would be checking the exhaust cam very close

I'm hoping that all of the issues are resolved before I purchase my RZR4 900 XP. They are re-designing the frame and once complete and tested then it will be released. The engineer that I talked to works in R&D Polaris Industries.
It will have EPS and a unlockable rear diff.....
The down side is that it is going to be close to $20,000

Would sure like to believe you but........ why weren't you talking to your engineer dude when people needed XP info?
There are alot of guys who are stuck with their purchases from last fall. Gotta sympathize with 'em.
I'm in a lucky spot with the timing of the XP release. Owning my 1st RZR for just 6 months, I was ready for a new spotless model with all the latest gadgets, and holy cow look what they introduce, with mega H.P. to boot. (albeit Polka Red)
