Which of these 2 shock mfgs would you recommend for a 2 up (wife & I) RZR with 2" lift...

Mostly trail with some sand and rock terrain...

I have Elka double adjustables. I like them, they do not do anything weird like buck, bottom or anything like that. They do well enough for me to win races. At low speed they do not ride as well as the stock shocks did, but I am sprung much stiffer so that is to be expected. All that being said people talk so well about Steve's Afcos that I am very tempted to try a set of his.

I have the MT-2's and love'm. I have heard rumors about Steve is making an adjustable res for the MT-2. I'm interested but they do so well in both dunes and desert I don't know if I want to start chasing my tail with tweaking them.
Mine are stiffer also going slow. Just makes me go faster! :)
Elka's are great shocks from a good company, just very pricey.

You should also look into Walker Evans Racing shocks. They are adjustable and are priced very good. I am very happy with them. A simple click with my hand and I can change the stiffness/softness for different riding conditions. Definitely helps when I add more weight.

I would also recomend Steve at Makin Trax I have the mt2 doubles they work awsome Steve is a great guy and has taught me a lot and has a lot of patience with me.

I also use mine mostly 2 up and on trails. I purchased AFCO from Steve at Makin Trax and he was great. Very patient and spent a lot of time determining what would be the best setup for me. A little rougher at low speed but SO much better everywhere else. Reduces body roll significantly and much more stable in the corners (which the wife really appreciated) The best mod I have made and would definetly do it again. Highly recommended. I have no experience with ELKA so I cannot offer a comparison, love the AFCO and can't imagine anything working much better.

I run Elka, but I've heard nothing but good things about AFCO's I think they're just a little newer to the market, and don't have the following that Elka does yet.

If I was buying a new set today, I'd probably go with Elka again just because I've owned 2 sets, and know probably 15-20 riders with them as well, and we all agree, they're a top notch product.

There are at least 5 people on here that have had a ton of problems with elka. Someone else said there customer service sucked, and I agree. While many say they are great, I don't think they have the rzr figured out yet. I hate my elkas and regret the day I put them on.

If you can't ride a machine with the setup you want on it, don't spend the money. Not worth it.

Another point against elka is that when you want (need) to have them revalved, respringed, retested to figure out why they ride like crap, you will have to pay extra, and ship them internationally. All of which ads to the delay and your frustration and cost.

I have Walker Evans shocks and I like the way that they ride at high speed but I think that they are a little harsh at slow speed. I have the compression set at 2 clicks and the preloads adjusted so low that I am losing some ground clearance. I have messed with them several times and I can't seem to make them better. I bought them used and I wonder if the Nitrogen is were it should be? I know that they should be somewhere between 150-160psi I just have not set up a system to check them. Can you get the afco's to ride good at low trail speed and still keep the ground cleararce? I don't do much jumping or a whole lot of high speed riding nothing over 35-40 MPH.
