9a solid state relay

I have a 2015 RZR 570 EPS. I was greasing the fittings, and noticed at the right rear, a small aluminum looking box just hanging next to where the axle comes out. I looked it up in the electrical parts, and it is part 21, 9a solid state relay. I don't know what it does, but I don't think it should just be hanging by the wires. I've looked, but don't see where it could have been mounted. There is a bolt through it with a nylok nut and spacer. Does anyone know where it should be mounted, or should I just tie it up with a zip tie to keep it out of the way? Thanks for any advice.

Do you have Turf mode? If you do, that's probably the control relay. I'd look at a new machine at dealer or a friend's machine for mounting location rather than zip tie if possible, if not just secure it.

Thanks for reply, Denver, and good advice. Went to dealership over the weekend and they had a 2017 570 with turf mode. The bolt through the relay goes through a hole in the back of the machine, right and a little above the hitch receiver. Also about where the rear bumper is bolted on. I think maybe when the dealership put on the rear bumper, they had to disconnect the relay, and the hole for the bumper mount was in about the same place as for the relay. Then maybe, they just forgot to remount the relay. Anyway, drilled a small hole for the relay and at least its not just hanging anymore.

Thanks again,
Bruce

Gives a clue how well your dealer does maintenance. You may not have any other options, but forewarned is forearmed. Always ask for your old parts and check their work.
