I bought a 2014 800s about 8 months ago. I love everything about it and really have no complaints other than the lack of power in certain situations. That being said, I ride with 800's, 900's, and 1000's and have grown a little envious of the extra power (and other things too) in the 900 s and 1000's,so much that I am considering getting rid of my 800 for a 2014 900 but would love to hear from anyone who has experience with the two. Thoughts?

The suspension articulation of the 900 is hands down better for where I ride. Then add the extra ground clearance and wheelbase and it's even better IMO. The power also comes in handy. With all that being said, the 800s in our group still go 95% of the places that the 900 and 1000s go, but nothing a lil extra ground clearance couldn't fix...

800 s is a proven machine. For a trail and creek bouncer which is what we do. 800s over 900 imo.

In 2011 I bought a new 800s, good machine, never had a problem, liked it a lot.
One of my riding buddies got a xp900 and let me drive it on a trail ride one afternoon.
Amazing difference, better ride, handled better, much more power.
Sold the S and bought a 2014 900 within 45 days. Have never regretted it.

Yep if I was going to buy a mud or rock crawler I would buy 800 or 900s
But if I wanted the best machine for that I would buy a rhino 700 . I personally own a rzr xp 900 but for straight up 4 wheeling rhino!!!!!!!!!!

I started out with a 2010 RZRS, great machine, If I only trail rode I don't know if I'd have changed. But, I like to dune and wanted more power, I now have an XP900, Awesome machine!! Stable, reliable and fast. Both rides in my sig.

Your going to get 50 different opinions. We have a highly modded 800 with +6 LT and a Jagged X. As much as I like our LT 800 (it's a beast) it does not hold a candle to the Jagged X. We have a mix of all machines in our group. Hands down the XPs & 1Ks go where the others can not. We ride steep rocky technical trails of east TN & KY. And then there are the XP4s, they make the roughest rockiest terrain look stupid easy. The longer wheelbase makes a huge difference in rough terrain. Numerous times we've been on trails where the only ones to make it up a hill without help are the XPs & 1Ks.

My rankings:
1) XP900 4 or Jagged x (better suspension & more power)
2) 1K (1K4 is too long)
3) XP 900
4) 800S

No experience with the 900S but I can tell you it will not articulate like an XP 900 or 1K.

Just my 2 cents based on our experience.
