Soo, I have been thinking of getting rid of the S and upgrading to a 900, something with a little more bottom end power for riding and the suspension, but also to set up for hunting like my S is now. I have a guy interested in it for 10,000 this weekend cash, this is my second chance at selling it and i passed the first one up. My S has 25,xx miles on and pro armour doors with nothing special front and rear windshields.

I talked to a local dealer and they said they could do a new 12 rzr 900 xp for 13500 otd. I;m thinking i should go this route, i currently have a aluminum cab being built for the 800 but putting it off till i know if i''m selling it. I aslo have an ssv stereo in the S i would keep, so the only thing i would have to get is the PA doors.

My questions is iit worth upgrading? i have 2012 LE that gives me zero troubles. Will a 900 be just as good of a ride? how much bigger is the 900 compared to a S? Reliablity of a 900? Any input is helpful thank you

I just sold my 2012 s with 1900 miles on Friday and got a 2011 xp900 last night (Tuesday)with 2500 miles and got a set of 4 sand tires and wheels and it cost me $500 more than what I sold the s for. Best decision ever! I trail ride, dune ride and had my last rzr street legal and I can tell you you won't miss a single thing about the 800(fuel mileage was a little better on long trail rides tho) but then again average speed is a lot more haha. The prices on the 800s's right now is optimum to sell and the 900's are prime to buy.

Before I bought my 900, I went to a local dealer thinking I wanted an 800. That was until I drove a 800 w/ no power steering THEN drove a 900 with ps. I NEVER even considered an 800 after that. Like I've told others, IT'S 33 MORE HP IN A 1000# VEHICLE, WITH BETTER SUSPENSION!!!

You won't regret it at all.

Do it and you will never regret it at all! I bought 2 RZR 's and 4 months later I drove an XP and fell in love in the first 10 sec's Oh that's right when i pressed the pedal down to the floor and it was all over! LOL BUY IT!

It's an epidemic I tell you. Once you drive a 900 you'll wonder why you didn't trade your 800 sooner. Hmm, once you drive the 1000 you'll wonder why you ever bought a 900. Sometimes it's not about having the most power or the best suspension. Most people buy more machine than they have need for and cannot use the machine to it's fullest potential. But they can say sure I got one of those.

I'm currently in the same situation. Want to be a RZR owner in the next few weeks. The issue for me is that I don't have a spot for a trailer nor do I want a trailer, I have a full size truck so I will need to transport in that. So, all I have room for is a 60" S unless I get one of those bed racks and super long ramps so I can get an XP up there.

Used 2010 S with Fox shocks - $8500 to $9000
New 2014 basic S - $11,100 plus $600 shipping to my house (could add better shocks later)
Used 2011-2012 XP -$11,500 to $12,500, plus $1,000 for someone to build me a bed rack and ramps...

Decisions, decisions....

Have not got the 900 yet. Torn between the 900 and a commander 1000xt. Have had a few more interests in my S again so we shall see if it sells.

I can tell you from personal experience (I own xp step dad has commander)the 900XP and the commander 1000xt are two different animals. The suspension and "drivability" of the xp beats the commander hands down. If you want to have more utility than the xp provides get the commander. I don't think that the commander and xp are even in the same category. The xp is a Baja trophy truck where the commander is a performance pickup truck. Dirt trax dumped a ton of money into a commander to see if they could get it to compete with the xp and in the end said that they are just two different classes of machines.

If you want a sport utv go with the xp if you want a utility utv with some sport capability go with the commander.
