It is not showing check engine light?

 

no my check engine light didn't come on. someone told me to unhook the battery to reset computer that the firing might be off. nope didn't work. I also replaced the spark pulg.

 

Strange. I would first be certain the battery is at full charge. Is the plug wet/fouled when checked?

 

Try checking compression, should be 80 to 120 if I remember correctly; check airbox for a blocked or collapsed air filter.

 

A friend of mine owns a 2012 570 and his fuel pump cracked with very low hours. We still had some fuel at the rail but it wasn't enough pressure to get the fire lit. Local dealer warrantied no questions asked.

 

spark plug was dry, filter is new, also tried to start it with air filter box open and sprayed ether in it. never even tried to start it just turned over.

 

I had a code when my TPS went out. This is sounding the same. Check display and see if there is a code stored.

 

I don't think the 2012 model has a Throttle Position Sensor?

 

I just posted a thread with the same symptoms. I dropped mine off at the dealership under warranty on monday and should hear back from them tomorrow with a diagnosis. Ill post back what my results are.

 

thanks Mobla890, mines 2 months out of warranty, trying to see what they will do, 3th day I had it valve spring broke with only 12 miles, they fixed it. not a good start for a new UTV. just did hit 53hrs

 

I put in the shop 8-2, should know mid next week, moral890 i would still like to know what happen to yours.

So I got my rzr back, apparently my valves need to be adjusted. The intake valves had 0 clearance between the can and the bucket. Easy fix with service manual, I'm going to part a video on how to do it on youtube this week. I'll post the link soon. Polaris said I only had 40 psi of compression, needs to be 80 to 120. They also said the circuit breaker behind the seat is bad causing my fan to run intermittently.

So I take it you relocated the factory circuit breaker behind the seat? How is that causing the fan to run intermittently, is the CB incorrect or bad?

Intake valves need adjusting, 0 clearance between cam and bucket. Getting test to post a video on youtube showing how to do it. I downloaded the service manual, great tool for $ 5

 

If you only have 40 psi of compression after valve adjustment it looks like you have suffered the infamous dusted syndrome and will soon need a upper rebuild.

 

how do you check for codes on these ? mine is a 2012 ??

 

The gauge cluster;if it is has set a code. Toggle the mode button till it shows CK ENG ,press and hold button and the code will come up. 3 sets of numbers are shown. If there is more than one code release and push again to get the others.

 

so is this something that happens a lot with the 570s? they suck dust in the intake?
if so, whats the best way to stop it? swamp mine about 4 months ago had it serviced all was good they said compression was a little low but still in specs. but, it's looking like they will have to rebuild the top end, but, still waiting to see for sure.

 

Not just dust. The 2013's have a crappy intake design between the airbox and the external opening on the driver's side. Any water/mud thrown on the connection gets sucked in and thrown onto the top of the filter; if there's any gap, or the filter gets too blocked and collapses, the mud goes straight into the cylinder.

update on my 2012, 570 rzr motor topend has to be rebuilt, said it had durt on the piston. so now I will try to build a better filter system. if anyone has a link to a better filter system. please post the link. or a snorkel kit with filter system.

Payne, Check out my thread on dusted and new air filters in the 570 section. You have multiple options but the $20 uni filter that I use inside the air box after the paper filter is the easiest way to protect your engine from the poor polaris paper filter. If you want more check out the threads were I have added a fleetguard opti air system.
