wow, that's a bad ass cage! i had one like that on my rhino and loved it.

 

I just got my cage from Andy on Monday and installed it in maybe 10 minutes! Its flawless, great welds and the powder is very nice. Added some images to this post! I'm not the photographer in the family...

Got my Cage from Andy right before Thankgiving. Could not be happier. I also ordered the front cage mounts which make the stockers look like a bad joke. Cage looks and fits great, powder coat took a beating in the woods first weekend out and held up 10x's better than the stock coating. Also Andy's customer service is Top Notch!!

It depends where we are shipping but we either use USF Holland for midwest shipments or Zip Xpress for west coast.

 

What is the weight of the non race cage?
Can it be had in Chromoly?
Could I get the race cage but substitute the normal door bars?
Still doing the $50 shipping?

 

The weight for a standard cage w/ no door bars is 70 lbs. Only 30 lbs. more than stock. Add door bars and it's about 82 lbs. If you wanted a Race Cage w/ door bars that is no problem. The weight would be around 105 lbs. total. All of our door options are also available for the Race Cage.

We can do Chromoly cages too. It would be a $140 upgrade.

What gauge tube is used for the steel cage?
What gauge tube is used for the chromoly option?

 

Normally, it's .095" for the big tubes and .083" for the small tubes. When we do a Chromoly cage we usually go with .083" all around unless you specify otherwise. Were pretty flexible.

 

I need to do a stress analysis. I am thinking 1 3/4" .058 wall chrmo. would be plenty for my purposes & be pretty light. I am very weight concerned as I have to run at 50" width & don't want alot of weight up top. Thanks for your help.

 

We can make it from whatever you'd like I guess. The .058 seems pretty light to me but I guess it could work. If it were me I would probably go with the .083 for the big tubes and then .058 for all of the small tubes...

Can you comment on how the height of the cage compares to a stock cage both at the front "hoop" & in the back "hoop"? I realize the cage is not a hoop style but you get the point.

 

Good question. The front is 1.25" higher than stock and the tallest point in the rear is .25" taller. We tried to make it so it came out very close.

We are currently building a couple custom ones for some racers with the rear lowered about 4".

Not yet... We're just starting them. It will be the same design just a flat roof at the same height as the original front height...

I do plan on posting pics as soon as we're done but it will probably be a while until we can wrap up the project machine we're doing it for...

 

ok. I think it would look really nice 2.5" lower in the front (then stock) & 4" lower in the rear, keeping the same design as you have.

I will take some measurements to see exactly what I want. Could I have custom doors made? I like the doors from Todd's custom billet, but can not use them because they are based off 2" tube. I would also like them to open (I have severe arthritis & have a hard time climbing over stuff). I have designed (kinda) a door like the TCB but with straight bends in the aluminum skin as opposed to the formed TCB ones because I don't think I could build the TCB ones maybe you could but I would be satisfied either way. I also like the overall look of your doors for fullbore plastic but I have stock plastic & would really like something that opens.

 

We can do basically anything you'd like. We try to be very flexible. We haven't done anything for swing open doors yet but that's not saying we can't. Maybe just give us a shout when you get a chance and we can discuss your needs and come up with a custom quote for you.

I'll do that. I will finish my design ideas first so we can really talk in-depth. I have some ideas for incorporating NHRA style swingouts for the doors to retain side impact strength.
