I have a 2011 RZR 800S and I need to change the 2nd/4wd switch to a 5 pin rocker switch. Has anyone done this and can you tell me which wire goes where?

The gray wire is the wire that needs to be the "switched" wire, it is the negative that sends signal to the ecu that engages the front diff. I'm not sure how you will make everything else work in the switch. I used a 8 pin switch that I bought from Team FAS Motorsports here on the forum when I replaced my awd switch.

I appreciate the answer! This helps a lot! Thanks!

I'm assuming this is the type of switch you have? If so, then this wiring diagram won't wotk for you.

Instead you would need to hook ingnition positives to pins 7 and 8, and a ground to pin 6. Then I would hook the grounded side of the awd gray wire to pin 2 and the other side of the gray wire to pin 3. I think I repeat THINK that will give you a working switch with both leds functioning correctly. It's too early for me to be thinking this much! Lol!

The problem is 1 of the leds is powered by the switch when its turned on. So he can't hook a positive to that led because he needs to be switching a ground circuit to activate ttge awd. Again the 8 pin switch would alleviate that issue.

You can try wiring it up the way I suggested. Will the leds light up, I can't say for certain. But the only way to wire it up the correct way would be to use a relay to trigger the awd circuit, which is certainly doable, but adds complexity. I personally would get a 8 pin switch before doing that. Or you can use the switch you have and not have both leds light up.

I know this is an old post and I was wondering if you did figure it out which by now you probably did but there is a way to do it. It requires a relay and it is very simple. The only thing is both the top and the bottom lights will light up at the same time when you turn on your ignition.
