Just got a new 900 xp and when I am in 2wd and spin the tires the front tires engage. Is this normal? My 2008 800 rzr would spin the back tires by themselves all day long unless you turn on the 4wd system.

Not normal but both mine and my buddies are doing this. He took his in on Tuesday and the dealer said they couldn't find any problems with front diff.

I'm new to SxS, but very familiar with the Polaris AWD system on Quads. This is a common problem, cause by excessive wheel spin in 2WD.

The problem this causes, is magnetizing the ring gear in the front diff. This is a permanent condition.

The best way to test for it, is to put your RZR on stands, run it in 2WD. If your front wheels start spinning, it's magnetized.

I have had riders on my ATV site have this covered under warranty for a "safety issue". This was 4 years ago....haven't known anyone to get this done, since then.

When I am in two wheel drive something kicks in and really slows me down like the front diff is going to pile up. If I run in 4wd mode no issues at all the 4wd kicks in as it should and no dragging in the driveline, but as soon as I shut the 4wd switch off to 2wd something will lock up somewhere and slow me down and make almost a grinding noise. As soon as I stop and put it in 4wd again it works fine, I used it the rest of May long weekend in 4wd drive mode with no issues, but I can't run it in 2wd without it dragging.

I have a 2011 rzr4 that i've had for 4 mos> Got it outta the shop this past week after they had it for 3 mos> Made it 12 miles yesterday before the front diff took a dump again!! I have awd in forward gears no matter what position the switch is in but no awd in reverse at all!! Ive ridden it 5 times including yesterday! It has 31 hrs and 180 miles! This is exactly the same thing it done the first time and it took 3 mos and a call a day to the dealer to get it fixed and they said i busted every piece in the front diff except the case but i have'nt ever heard a pop, crack or grind of any kind and i have a suspicion that my problem is elsewhere because my awd is still working quietly but will not disengage in forward gears and will not engage at all in reverse!!!
