Just noticed the primary on my XP4 is throwing a fit.

Last time out, which was months ago, we shredded the belt. Apparently it had some effect on the primary also because I just noticed tonight that the primary is stuck in the full engaged position.

I can lightly tap it with a rubber mallet and the clutch will release but it becomes stuck again once the engine is revved up.

What are my options here?
I've tried blowing it out with air, I sprayed it with some cleaner, hit it with more air and had the same results.

Thanks

Pull it off. Take the tower cover and spring off. Remove the spider (3 pronged piece of aluminum) take a 3m scotchbrite pad and smooth up the sides of the tower that the black round pieces in the ends of the spider slide on. I replaced the pills with some from aftermarket assassins. Clean the bushing on the inside of the tower and smooth up the bushing that slides into it. Blow everything off and it will be nice and smooth again.

Do I need to pick up any special tools for any of that?

It's a 2020

“Sniff, sniff”, smells like a great excuse for an upgrade!

@Mattman06

So remove the bolt for the primary clutch, #22 in that parts view. And then remove all of the bolts labeled #14 to remove the #2 part? Correct?
