I posted in another thread, but I will ask here too.

Mounted, is this just secured in place with those 2 push in clips on the top like the OEM cover?

I ask because I would consider using this, then mounting my otterbox case for my iPad to it. But was concerned about the weight and it bouncing around of coming off considering it would just be secured with those 2 push in plastic clips/pins.

Thoughts?

The otterbox has that otter shell that it clips into, I would be bolting that outer shell and then I could remove the iPad from that whenever I wanted.

Thanks!

As seen in the photos above:

We provide two clip on nuts for the two lower attachment holes in the dash as well as stainless hardware. So it utilizes the two upper push pins and 2 lower bolt in mounts to ensure it doesnt move or bounce off the machine.

I noticed those in the pictures, but when I had mine off (I was looking at ways to do this... ;) ) I didn't notice any lower mounts. I had popped those 2 top clips and the "tray" pulled right now. Interesting.

I am going to remove it again tomorrow, if all looks good I will order one tomorrow.

You have these in stock?

The box pushes into two lower mounts (square hole if I remember) and when you remove the box, they are just open. These clip on nuts slide over the plastic dash then then provide a nut to bolt to. :wink

It shows we currently have 4 in stock.

Makes sense, I wouldn't have even noticed it there then!

Thank you!

So it came out pretty good, I think. Obviously this wasn't intended for use with an iPad. But maybe... You guys could or should sell an iPad version? ;) I would be happy to test one... lol

Here are the pix. What I would do for an "iPad version" would probably just sell a plate that covers the entire opening. That way there would be no whole and we could then mount the iPad a little lower.

In fact, I may just do that. Get a piece of black aluminum, bolt it to your plate. Then remount the iPad case a little lower. But I like it.

I plan to load my music on the iPad, then run the Ride Command app for the group ride feature and use it to play music to my bluetooth speakers.

And I ordered a couple 1' cords ;) And may run it into the dash and add a 12V outlet under the dash so you don't see it at all.
