Talked to my dealer today. He. Claims the 18 xpt is already built and being tested. Not sure if it's his opinion or fact. But he also said its gonna be a lower body like the x3 more suspension but same hp as the 17. Kinda the same thing we were all assuming. Lol time will tell!:ride:

I hope Polaris would have 2018 prototypes, what an outstanding speculation! You know your dealer is a glorified car salesman don't you? Engineers, techs, etc. at Polaris and people who drive prototypes have NDAs. I would hope the future is better quality and lower price. These machines today are already capable of more than the average consumer can handle.

Worth waiting for if it is a big improvement in cabin comfort and suspension.

The X3 though really nice, needs more power and Can Am used the old visco loc from the Maverick.
Yeah they talk it up like they improved the Visco lock but we've seen no difference and it sux compared to the Polaris front drive at Moab.
Those X3 You Tubes from Moab prove that point. If the X3 is climbing with any ability, they have the Halo. Read the comments.

You have to install the Halo locker in the X3 or it's 2 and 1/2 wheel drive.
Nice unit the Halo but it's more money and manually/electrically engaged.
Polaris has them beat there.

Just my 2 cents worth - point being Polaris has the potential to produce a better all around machine.
Potential, now that's a big word to use in the same breath as Polaris.

I'm with ya. I love my 16 turbo. Fast as hell and rides and handles great in the trails! I thought our 14 900 eps was great until I drove this beast! I'm sure the x3 is awesome. But I'm happy as can be with mine.

I was told the same exact thing, that the 18 is already built and being tested. it's suppose to be a whole other rzr! I would hope so, the Maverick is pretty dam nice! I'm a die hard Polaris fan, I've had several new rzr's over the years, but I am tempted to buy the new maverick because of all the Polaris issues and BS. I'll give Polaris until their Dealer meeting in July to "change the game" if not I'll probably buy a maverick.

Dive Bar-

The Visco works better than the Polaris 4wd in the sand but of course the Polaris 4wd is better in the technical crawling-I can say my X3 climbs like a billy goat compared to my old Cowmander and better than my old rzr 800 - the wheelbase helps a lot- I have an X3 and I can tell you this thing does not need more horsepower- I raced a 2017 Polaris on the street and we did 3 runs- i won 2 and he won 1- Both are way faster than anyone needs to go- I hit 81 mph in a fairly short stretch and I don't see how anyone needs more power or speed-I am a trail guy so maybe it is different in the sand- While the new Polaris has more hp, the Can Am clutch is dialed in perfect and must put more power to the ground-(as far as I have read the X3 is heavier) The 2018 Polaris should be a nice machine- I can't wait to see what they put out there- I have had just about every machine out there and my X3 is my favorite - if the new Polaris proves to be great (2018) then maybe I will get one in a couple of years- all this competition is great- One machine is never going to be the best at everthing- Competition makes them all better in my opinion-

The visco loc diff in the x3 actually has slower engagement than the older Mavericks. I was told this from my buddy who owns a can am dealership and was at the unveiling of the x3 . He eats sleeps and craps can am. He said it was something to do with the power of the x3 and the slower engagement would be more suited. He also has the halo locker in all 3 of his rides.

I got my xpt 16' 4 seater for 19K I've put 7K into it. It has 190HP. I still have no aftermarket injectors, gaskets, or lots of other stuff. For the price I bought it for I could put a longer travel on it. And make the 18' squeal like I did to the the can am and 17' turbo in glamis. This last weekend. Why??? I set my suspension. Put alot of work into the fox shocks. Trust me. You could have the best suspension but if its not set correctly it will never matter who has a faster car. Especially in whoops and in bumpy conditions. Also clutching is another huge thing. If you take the time for both of these you will see that it's not all about HP. I'm a proud XPT '16 4 seater owner. Broke an axle and a couple belts but it's all worth it. Cheers

I was one of the first RZR owners. Bought the 50" 800 the day the dealer got it in. Waiting list and all. Great machine then. Then I upgraded to a 800 S. Great machine then. Then the 900XP. Great machine then. Now the 1000Xp. Great machine. The X3 has a massive cool factor. The Yamaha is a joke. The new Wildcat is a ghost. The General is legit. Put a phase 3 and a pipe in the new 900 Ace and it will scare the crap our of you. Can't even imagine what is coming next. But if I was a betting man, I would say the '18XP is going to be very different than the current XP.
