Bought a new turbo a few weeks back and started to add a few things. I was trying to take the primary clutch off today but couldn’t seem the get the bolt to pop loose and didn’t want to snap it off! Anyone else run into this? Do I need to just get more leverage and crank on it? Any help would be great.

Teflon tape the threads on the puller like crazy, put some water in the primary center hole, try again now. The additional water pressure you'll create will help.

Everyone including myself has a hard time removing the primary the first time. Put a lite coating of moly lube (assembly lube) on the puller threads and use a 3-foot cheater bar. Tighten the puller as tight as you dare. Lightly tap the puller with BFH, apply more torque, repeat several times and the primary will eventually pop off. Don’t smack the puller real hard since you can damage the crankshaft bearings or even bend the crankshaft.

Make sure to leave the belt on...so as to keep the primary from hitting the floor when it finally ejects.
