Hello all. I have a 2016 rzr xp turbo eps. Long story short i had a belt come apart and completely destroy the clutches and the aluminum case housing. I purchased a new case from polaris as well as a completely new primary and secondary clutch from aftermarket assassins. I also used there snap ring delete / washer kit. Using a new Hunterworks belt. This rzr has always been sort of loud in the engine area. There was some clutch work done to the old clutch from the previous owner so i always thought it was that. It has a powercommander tuner and some sort of tune installed from po as well (i cant pull tune out). Im starting to wonder if there is something else going on or is this normal clutch chatter? Just looking for a little advice. Thanks!

Alien, I will say that my '18 sounds identical. I feel like it has been that way since I got it a year ago, but I'm not certain. Leaving for Glamis in a couple days and was actually just getting ready to pull the clutch cover and blow it out/inspect, when I read your post. It has me thinking about reclutching, just because I went to 32's, and for no other good reason.

Hoping someone who is super clutch savy gets on the chat and let's us know what and why.

Popped the clutch off and here is a video. it is significantly quieter. Sounds more normal to me. I decided to check the valves to make sure i didnt have anything going on there. I found all exhaust perfect in spec and i found 3 out of 4 intake valves tight. They were .003" spec is .006". I have shims on order to fix that.

The previous owner said it has head studs (which i found to be true during valve clearance check) as well as "larger injectors"

Does anyone think this can be a tune noise like incorrect timing? The power commander wont let me pull the current tune out and just says i must return to stock tune before i can upload a different tune. Of course i dont have a stock tune.

I did an oil change on it as well. absolutely no metal in the oil. I also cut the filter open and found nothing.

Thanks for all the help

Well valve adjustment is complete and back in spec. i pulled the top plate off the clutch. i assume this what i am hearing clattering. But is it normal. Going to just give AA a call next week after the holidays. A lot of money spent on these things and i want to be sure. Just seems louder than it should be.

my ‘16 XP sounded very similar. I had wear in the secondary from the flat pucks and 8200 miles on the machine. I replaced the clutches with new units from Hunter Works and all is quiet back there now and much better clutching.
