About to redo end caps.. question is when i took off the shocks i noticed 2 of them sound like they have oil in the main barrel.. the shock that has the noticeable leakage sound like it has oil in barrel.. the other that looks ok i cant hear nothing in shock.. so when i redo end caps does it sound like the shock needs something else done to it? Thx for the help

The shock body should contain shock oil and should not have any bubbles in it. In the piggyback reservoir is a floating piston and nitrogen. When you compress the shock the oil goes past the compression needle (adjustment knob) and the piston compresses against the nitrogen.

Lack of nitrogen doesn't put enough pressure on the piston/oil and it may have caused your leak. There is an odd chance you may need to change an O ring seal. Most shocks you shouldn't hear the oil gurgle. That would mean you need to re-fill and bleed the oil and set the depth of the piston. Normally (with no spring) if you compress the shock the nitrogen pressure will push the rod back out on it's own.

Here is a video that shows how to rebuild a shock and you can see how they bleed the oil. See around the 8:22 mark. Fox shocks are done the same way.

Update?
Did you change the caps and repressurize before you went riding?

I did the caps myself, I used the Schmidty extended caps with valves and popped them back in. He has a how to video on youtuibe, its really easy. I cannot find nitrogen locally other than buying a whole tank so I just charged them with air to 150psi. As soon as I can get some Nitro, I will flush them and fill back up to 200 psi as he states in the instructions. Its been riding perfect.
