Have a 2012 xp900 that is becoming hard to start...when you hit the key it will just hang up(bind up) One person tells me its the one way starter gear another tells me its a design flaW polaris had on the intermidate shaft, that holds all the gears. How can I check and is their anyway to fix this design flaw?

There is an idler gear that is between the starter drive and the one way bearing . The shaft which is threaded into the engine case has been known to back out.
If it binds when you start the engine it is possible that it will break your engine cases.
The only way to check it is by removing the stator cover then remove the flywheel. No way to correct the design flaw, just put thread locker on the threads and torque to proper specs.

10-4 The stator Cbr has been pulled. The bolt hasn't broke off. Checking to see if it's bent. Is green loctite the best stuff to use. Or is their a better alternative
When you removed the cover and the flywheel was the idler shaft backed out of the engine casing?
