I have nothing to base this off but one guys opinion but he says it is CV joint on the axle gets so hot it starts a fire in the boot then it spreads.

Ya.......intuitively, that would seem like the least probable of possible causes, given the lack of proximity to a high-heat source. Just my opinion.......
