Today I dove into the oil filter area of my RZR with the intentions of completing two tasks - 1) relocate the oil filter and 2) relocate the dipstick. The oil filter did not co-operate, but the dipstick sure did.

I hate removing the seats and panel to check/fill my oil. Well - no more. And I AIN'T payin' no $50 bucks for a relocate kit. Come on folks this RZR is really nice but it's not a Benz !! Some of these AM parts are priced extremely high. I'm all for supporting vendors, and I sure have bought my share of parts so far, but some things are way over priced.

Now for the dipstick - just follow the pictures and they will tell the story.

I have my own fab shop, so that helps. I washed the bracket off with an angle grinder and then re-installed it temporarily to mark the new bracket location. I then tacked on the bracket and re-installed again. Lined up perfect. Removed and welded it in place, grind it down and re-painted.

I love the new angle. Worked out real good. I can easily reach over or beside the rear tire and check my oil. No burn hazard either with the header wrap. The oil filter, sensor and rad hose all live together there happily.

Cost - Two shots of black Krylon and 1.5" of 6010 - 3/32 rod at 70amps.

That is a nice clean job....Some of us who are not fortunate to have a shop available have gone this route....Take the firewall off. and using a hole saw (2" ) drill a hole in the fire wall immediately in front of the dipstick......Works great...just rotate the seat forward , or remove it to check your oil......

Yes, I stick welded that together. I was too lazy to get the Miller MIG out for such a small job. Turn the machine down and stitch it. No burn through.

My headers are wrapped. Unwrapped header would probably melt it. The plastic latch is @ 4" away. IF you do this mod I highly recommend that you wrap your headers. You should do it anyway because they could have detrimental effects on other plastics in the general area. I can touch my headers after a good ride :)
