New to site and ownership of Rzr. Want to know what rpm people run on these machines successfully. It has 26" tires, 2" lift with high lifter springs, Pro Armour doors, Roof with stereo, Full skid plate, Rear box, windshield etc. Cannot get more than 5800rpm out of the machine. It seems to loose major power at 40 mph. It just lays flat. I am planning on Two Brother Racing slip on M7 exhaust and a Bikeman Intake to start. Any info on rpm range and future mods would be appreciated. Thanks.

I had a 2012 S and if i remember correctly the top rpm was 6500rpm..My S would run around 60-62 at approx. 6200rpms..Sinch you cant get more than 5800rmps check your throttle cable, it may have some slack in as they do stretch. If it has slack in it just go to your throttle body and tighten it up some..

As far as the power dies after 40mph...IMO thats about right..My S was rather sluggish after that point so no problem there...

As far a the exhaust..I didnt have one but what I hear on the forums here, exhaust doesnt give the 800's alot of power at all...

Dont do any real racing so I dont do engine mods so i cant help you there

when I say go to the throttle body that is where you tighten the throttle cable..Check at the gas pedal to see if the cable is loose..The cable should be sitting flush against the pedal and you shouldnt be able to pull the wire out any but you dont want to get it to tight either because that will cause it to rev up by itself and cause problems

I agree the clutch kit will be the best bang for the buck, but it will also help with full shift out which is 40 mph + speeds; especially if you run oversize tires. I would bet that the belt is not rising all the way up in the primary to give you full shift out. My RZR would smoke the belt loading in reverse up the ramps onto my pickup with the stock setup. I put a Dalton kit in the primary clutch with just basic tools, adjusted to fit my setup and never looked back. I've never smelled the belt smoking since and have 4000 miles on the original drive belt with probably another 1500-2000 to go before I need to change the belt. The clutch kit improved every aspect of my performance; engagement, slow speed operation, much quicker upshift and improved top end providing full shift out, even with 27" tires. The way to check if you are getting full shift out is to take a black Sharpie and draw a line from the center hub of the primary clutch to the outer edge on the primary sheave. Then run it at full throttle. If it doesn't obliterate the black line all the way to the outer edge of the sheave, you're not getting full shift out.
