I have a gear one steering rack now and I want to get an xp front diff cause I am tired of rebuilding mine and they are apparently stronger. Does anyone know if it will work? Where can I get an xp front diff online that won't cost me an arm and a leg? I found this pic on another thread but I can't seem to tell if I can get it to work.

..........Keep us posted with the required mods to the chassis to fit the new diff. I would be interested in if you can get away with just heating and folding the section of the chassis member under the steering rack, rather than cutting/grinding it to get the needed clearance.
Thanks.

I finally found the time to get the diff. in. As far as heating the steering rack mount and bending it out of the way, I would not think it is a good option. Working in there is in very close quarters. There would be a lot of heat generated and probably cause some sort of collateral damage to other components, such as the boots on the steering rack. Here are some pics of what had to be done for the front gear case to be bolted in the exact spot that it came out of.

Do you have a pic showing how much you had to grind off your steering rack?

So I just got the xp front diff and it will NOT work with my gear one steering rack :( now I need to make a decision, I want to go this weekend so do I put my weak stock one back in, buy a new stock steering rack OR buy a rackzilla rack and hope it fits. Does anyone have a pic of a stock rack and a rackzilla rack side by side to compare them? HELP!
