One of the unlucky ones, have a 2016 with the noisy front diff (marbles in the can) and growling driveline noise. Don't have shim on pinion to move, replaced sprague with billet version a little quieter but still noisy.

Talked to a popo rep and was told in some cases replacing the diff did not resolve any noise issues.

For those that have upgraded from the Model 1333344 to the 1333112 diff, did this resolve marbles in the can noise? Did this resolve the growling driveline noise?

Those of you with noisy front diffs...give Jeff Robbins at JJandARacing a call and discuss the issue with him.

He takes new diffs, blueprints them to greatly reduce the clearances...and mine is as quiet as a mouse. Can't even tell when it engages and disengages.

Just a thought...and might save money.

i been asking these guys about the noise problems and seems like no fix, hit or miss weather its quit or noisy.

The RZR900XP differential is a completely different animal... noise is not going to be an issue with the relatively small RZR900XP ring and pinion system.

The RZR1000XP ring and pinion gear teeth are absolutely massive.

The main reason the RZR1000XP gearcases are (hit and miss) noisy is because there is absolutely NOTHING supporting the ring gear and nothing actually controlling the gear lash... absolutely no tapered bearings on each side of the ring gear to hold it aligned properly... the ring gear is rattling and banging around in what is referred to as a DU bushing... the basic loose-fitting design of these gearcases was for lawn-tractor applications where the ground speed would be under 10mph.

There will be no sure fire fix for the noise in these units... their compact design will not allow it.
There is no room to add the proper bearings that would correctly support and maintain the massive ring gear.

Here is our advice... if you want a front differential that is not noisy, test-drive multiple Polaris vehicles until you find one that is quiet enough for you.

I have replaced my 1333344 diff after trying everything to fix all the problems it had. Funny thing as soon as I installed the 1333112 diff from a 2014 all the issues I had went away, No more noise, 4wd worked all the time, sprague has not broken ,ect Best thing I ever did was find a way to have Polaris hand me the 1333112 diff to me and hand them their 1333344 diff back to them. Yes I have a phased & balanced driveline which did nothing for the noise while still running the 1333344 diff but it did smooth out and fix all my vibration issues at the time.
I run a K&T Turbo setup with GTX an AEM Infinity , and AEM water & Methanol @ up to 20 Psi in this car with 200+ RWHP . All I can say is this diff is strong and just flat out works for my needs . Time will tell how well it holds up to this kind of power!

so the 16's don't have a shim to remove? like the 14's and 15's did that had the marble noise. I just bought a 16 xpt4 yesterday and have this same noise.
In my case, the 2016 with the 344 did not have the shim.

Since I originally posted I have been able to get the diff replaced with the 122. While it was down for service had the driveline phased and balanced. Hoping to have it out next weekend to try out the changes.

I'm glad I stumbled across this thread. I just bought a 2016 Turbo and after the first 20 minutes, I had the check engine light on and some crazy noises coming from the front diff. Including a loud "knock" every so often, while hitting some whoops in a moderate trail.
I took it back to the dealer and they said that Polaris said to drain and flush the diff. WTF ?
I'm suppose to hear back from them tomorrow to get the final word. I sure hope this doesn't become a pain in the arse. For $25K, they should hold together better than this. I bought this thing for the holiday weekends, starting with Thanksgiving, which is less than 2 weeks away now. Going to be pretty bummed if I can't enjoy the new toy during my vacation...

The 2016 Turbo (XPT) uses a different model front diff than the non turbo 1000 (XP) like we're discussing here.

FWIW there are several other threads where some 2015/2016 non turbo 1000 owners are discussing upgrading to the XPT diff to resolve the XP diff issues. Here's one - link . Based on the problems we've encountered I think you're in better shape with XPT diff even though you have some noises which hopefully the dealer can resolve.

I just bought a 2016 XP1000. Are you telling me they are still selling razors with drive shafts out of phase? I talked to a Polaris engineer when they were giving test rides on the Fox Edition units and he said they were aware of the phase issue and had addressed.

After several weeks at the dealer and some conversations with Polaris was able to get the diff replaced with the Model 1333112. Had the driveshaft phased and balanced.
Out of town for a few weeks and now looks like weather is going to step on plans to test it out this coming weekend.
Took it for a quick spin around the block, I'll I can hear is tire noise, YES, finally. Post again in a couple weeks when I can get it out in the dunes or desert.

I called back and talked to Polaris this morning about my Diff and it sounds like they have authorized the dealer to do a "trial" for a new front diff with the 1333112 part number. Not sure what "trial" means exactly, but they did say that there were no guarantees that it will fix the noisy differential issue. We'll see... I suspect I will be happier with the new part number.

Give it a try the 1333112 diff is the strongest diff out there and fixed all my problems. it has the bigest rollers & sprague Polaris has offered.all the other diffs have the shorter sprague cage, roller and drive flange. If they do not exchange it ,I told you what to do and they will after that! lol

My 1333112 diff is as quite as a field mouse now! I'm very happy not hearing that POS 1333344 diff making noise and breaking all the time.

Told you the 1333112 diff was the way to go ,Mine is as Quiet as a Mouse too. and strong now too as I no longer have diff problems launching in 4wd with my XP1K-4 the front tires relly hook up now! I'm still mad at Polaris for putting us through a year of B.S. & Fighting Over the whole thing though! This is the diff the car should of come with from Polaris!

FWIW, a buddy of mine took his RZR to the dealer last week hoping that they would replace his differential like they did mine. They did not offer to replace it, but did tell him that Polaris has released a "shim kit" for these differentials that eliminates the noise. Just thought I'd throw that up here in case anyone is looking for a fix and hasn't been able to get a response out of Polaris.
