first off would like to introduce myself to the forum,me and my kids.....we've always kinda just lurked around and so on with no reason to join but now we have. my sons rzr is hard to start,it spins over freely with no compression for anywhere from 5sec's to a minute before finally building enough to start. usually it kills the battery as to the longer it sits the worse it gets and can take minutes of non stop spinning, acts like a oil relief valve or dowel is stuck or possibly a compression relief valve maybe a oil drain back but im not to sure to what this little booger has.i am stumped and cant really find any research on the topic excepts the 800's and 900's and was hoping someones been in one befor that knows what all could cause this with out me tearing it apart.if anyone can help please chime in as to it has gotten harder for him to ride it and enjoy it. weve taken it to the stealler where we bought it with no help except a bill......thanks so much

There is a decompression mechanism on the cam shaft and rocker arms. It's purpose is to open the exhaust valves to ease starting. This may be stuck in the open position thus little to no compression. You might want to consider downloading a service manual from forum members tuf-skin or teamhog.
