170 Carb questions

I am having lots of issues with backfiring and overall carb performance. I am interested in purchasing a new higher performance carb for a 2012 RZR 170. Does anyone have any ideas or recommendations? I am new to all of this. I wouldn't mind changing some relatively inexpensive things to make it perform better either.
This is the RZR 170 with big wheel kit.

VENT RACING offers a Mikuni carb for the 170 (which is easier to tune I.M.H.O.) but the choke won't attach to the stock cable, so you'd have to reach down to the carb itself to apply to choke, which is a P.I.T.A.

I'd recommend the VENT RACING Intake kit and engine filter as one of the first mods to get for these lil 170's

So for those that have installed the new carb....what are you using to connect the output side to the engine?

The factory carb is setup diffrent and the rubber boot wont work on the replacment carb.
