'15 XP1000, basically stock except 32" Carnivor tires.

Popped the reverse chain stuck in wet sand on Saturday.

First question is anybody have any idea what this is gonna cost to fix. Probably gonna have to have dealer to the work.

Second, how should I fix it? Searched threads but just got stuff from 2 years ago. I have seen stronger chains which scare me cause will that just cause something else to break.

I also have seen using the highlifter or 4 seater gears which will gear down
reverse which I would be perfectly happy with.

Any thoughts are appreciated!!

Get a single bigger reverse chain. Don’t be fooled by the double reverse chain nonsense. Did it break your case when it went out? Pulling the transmission and splitting it is really pretty easy. I did it and I’m far from a mechanic.

So after some careful testing under the advise of my dealer, it seams the chain is not broken. But when it happened there was an extremely loud bang and then a grinding noise. He thinks it might of just skipped a tooth?
What are the odds that it broke a tooth? How do I figure all this out without
pulling the transmission?

If I do end up pulling it I am definitely going with the lower gearing.

I would think maybe try changing the fluid and seeing if there is anything on the plug. But your best bet is to pull the trans cause if it is broke and that gear get lodged somewhere you might have to buy a whole
New case.
