Hey guys my 08 800 has 4600 miles on the original shocks and springs. I know these machines are not the smoothest riding, but looking for an improvement. I have done a ton of searching on the forum, and found lots of good information. the problem is that most of the posts are minimum of two years old.

So the main questions are
- what is the best set up under $1000?
- Should I just save up and do the S conversion? (would rather stay narrow, but if its night and day difference I would consider the conversion)
- Do any of you guys have some take offs that would be worth running?

with the price of a good set of shocks im planning on throwing another $500 with it and do the s conversion. and as far as night and day on the ride---- my brothers rzr-s rides like a dream compared to my 50".on a side note i have 2" wheel spacers and the bump steer was killing me but i added power steering and fixed that which made my ride more enjoyable. so by doing the s-conversion ill have better ride and no bump steer.:ride:

I wrote a thread in the suspension section on my 09 std rzr that i put Fox non-piggyback shocks from Carl's Cycles. It is a much improved ride but not like a S model. I was considering a S conversion but I would still have the small cock pit ( not enough leg room Im 6' 2") so this rzr is for my wife and I am getting a new 900 S within a year or so. Thats my experience.

I have a +6 conversion on mine (wider than an "S"), and it made a huge difference in ride using just the stock Sachs shocks. I would assume the standard "S" conversion will make a difference. When my shocks were finally shot, I got lucky enough to find a good deal on low mileage 2012 (I think it was 12) Walker Evans shocks. They made an unbelievable difference in ride, but honestly I can't say it wasn't just because I was used to the beat up Sachs, lol. A friend of mine just bought a 2016 1000. I think it's the 60" model, it has the dual rear a-arms like my 800. Either way, we both agree that my current setup rides better than his.

Great info guys appreciate the input. Sounds like new shocks are a great improvement, but I really want to be happy I just as well do the +5 or +6 conversion. I appreciate the input I know this conversation has been beat to death, was just looking for some newer info.
