Springs

I am need of a new spring for the front of my RZR 900XP. Looking at costs to buy a genuine spring in the UK is quite high. I have found a company that will replicate the spring for me. But they need to know the spec of the spring.
Is there anywhere, that I can find all the tech specifications of the spring?
uncompressed length, coil dia, compression rate etc. Also is the compression rate for the duel rate section, is that info available?

Also, would you make any changes to the spring if you could? Stiffer/softer etc

Re: Springs

I would spend the extra money to have a set of aftermarket springs shipped. Contact the spring suppliers and ask about overseas shipping or a seller in the area. If you have researched springs, stock springs are mediocre at best. Plus, it is always best to replace in sets (front set or rear). Replace them all with a quality set. You will be happier in the long run. JMHO

Re: Springs

Many thanks for advice. A new genuine spring is 140$ here in the UK. Not sure what they retail at your side of the pond. Still awaiting a quote from the spring manufacturer.
What makes shock therapy springs better though? Are they stiffer or just better handling charactristics?

Re: Springs

Not necessarily shock therapy springs are better than eibach, rtpro, etc. ANY reputable aftermarket spring is better than stock. ST does shock valving to make the shocks work best with the springs. I installed a set of RTpro springs on my 900xp in a couple hours and it is a vast improvement. I have yet to find a head to head spring comparison on any RZR. There may be one out there. Opinions vary on which is best. I cant say that RTpro springs are the best because I have not used any other springs. Your brain will ache if you research all the possible springs available for RZRs.

Re: Springs

Tell me about it. I know how to work on my Landrover Defender, I've built countless V8's for my Landrovers but for some reason the RZR worries me when I do things. It shouldn't but there is so much info out there, it's hard knowing what is a drunken rambling on a forum and what is good advice.
Not many over here so no real experts. A couple of big dealers who seem more interested in the racing side of it rather than the social.

Re: Springs

Looking at the parts diagram for a 2013 SP900, seems they are a progressive 150-300 rate. You'd have to pull one off and measure to get ID and length, then I'd go to Summit Racing and look for something similar. I put their 175-350 progressive on the front of my S900 with Fox shocks.

Re: Springs

Does anyone have access to a brand new spring? Could do with some measurements. Free length, dia of coils

How much to ship to the United Kingdom? Where the OP is.

And then 20% import duty on top of costs and shipping. In reality, unless it's almost free I can't really justify the costs, well not for something like this.

As much as I would love to upgrade and improve the ride, I think a product as good as this is not a feasible option. Seems the Uk market is to small to have any vendor set up over here.

As good as your upgrade kit is, even with 10% discount and very cheap shipping which I would expect to still be around 100$ that still comes in at over 500% then 20% import duty so 100$ back on. I'm looking at 600$ all in. Which is a cost that I can't quite justify.
I fully understand that it would be a great upgrade and would transform the RZR, but I have to think of the bottom line. Many thanks for all the help your offering with discount and best shipping price
